Tess is an expy of Cessily from Eerie Cuties, there were a few full-color comics with Cessily in the original art style: one, two, three, four.

I've just realised that we're coming up on four years since we last saw Allie - despite the characters apparently going back to that cafe a few times (here and in SDB), and Sonya presumably still working there.

I am sad. I liked Allie, and I always thought that her interactions with Sonya had lots of comedy/character potential.

I guess this comic abhors the One Sane Woman like nature abhors a vacuum.

Yeah, I kinda miss Allie too. Considering some characters start very backgroundy and then become nigh-main characters (Sonya, Peggy), it's a pity Allie got lost on the wayside.

I never thought that she should become a major character, but I thought that we got a hint, just once, that she might be someone who could calm Sonya down a very little bit - offer her good advice without being a total wet blanket. At the same time, she could have shared a role with Aishani - a sane woman in a stable relationship who still can't help getting a few kinky ideas from the crazier members of the cast.

Or she could just have misunderstood a lot of overheard conversations and dropped a lot of coffee jugs. That joke still works.

Oh well. I can imagine her hanging out with her sister-in-law Aishani, talking about how crazy their (obviously completely unrelated) groups of friends are.

I had a terrifying experience the other day. At the start of the comic, Gary was (fairly) young, naive, manipulable, painfully incompetent at dealing with women, desperate to be liked by "cooler" people, a bit too interested in porn, technologically competent, and keen on the idea of a career on the artistic side of the technology business. He used to be an internet troll, and he was maybe a bit complacent about that sort of online bullying. He's not at all prejudiced against his gay friends, but he never seemed to be exactly politically aware.

Then, he fell in with an assortment of different people, and if he didn't become a better person, well, he's doing no harm and making the world a more interesting place. But in the real world, what would a Gary be like? What would be the worst that Gary could have become?

Well, I was browsing some serious news stories the other day, and I think I found the answer to that question.

I hear stories of strict religious parents, sexual misadventures, a feeling of drifting in a world which has not offered them a clear way to be heroes. A desperate longing for something to belong to, for adventure and friends and enemies to fight.

I don't think that Gary is like Those Guys. But I now see him as possibly having had a narrow escape from falling into a much worse way of thinking. It may be a day or two before I can laugh at those early strips again.

Thinking of Difi gettjng into wrestling, while she seemsvto be picking up the physical skillsvpretty well, has anyonevthought if her Mic skills yet? Maybe she needs acting lessons before going pro. Maybe Amber or Dillon shoild gelp her out?

Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Freudian slip there?

Anyway, Giz said something a while back about Dillon being due a guest appearance in Ma3, which guest appearance hasn't materialised yet, and there were some mumbles somewhere in the comic about some of the wrestling crew taking acting lessons to hone their mic skills. I've been more or less assuming that those two matters would ultimately prove to be linked.

I have to say that, given her downright pathological social incompetence, even by the standards of Ma3, I'm not sure how good a performer DiDi could ever plausibly be. The best bet might be to script her as some kind of strong, silent type, and make sure her costume had plenty of cleavage - at which point, half the audience would utterly refuse to care about her lack of mic skills, and the other half would happily treat her as a dumb heel.
