At the risk of being mocked for memory again (I'm kidding. I was bothered but barely), I recall Julian is strictly homosexual, therefore wouldn't be a rival for Zadie's affections... Though, it is gross that Aaron has seemingly made a trophy of her; it was awful of her to use him in her malformed mind games against her ex, but his is a problem that lasts beyond a moment of weakness. Anyway, I guess, since this romantic conquest is in Aaron's head anyway, he will probably still view Julian as a rival, presumably while spouting some more *delightfully* homophobic nonsense, too. Fingers crossed that Zadie doesn't start creeping on Julian!

On a less cynical note, I'm intrigued at seeing the actions of the minor characters from the main series, as there does seem like potentially interesting development and opportunity to witness the wider world that usually is left to the background.

And so this scene continues with Julian showing up. I'm still hoping that Ruby shows up and it's revealed she will be helping manage their little comic publishing venture since she has a business degree.

If Julian and Jordan aren't still together, I could see him going for Felix....or maybe even Aaron.

Obvious question; if Aaron hangs around the shop a lot, one way and another, wouldn't he already know that Julian was the publishing company's graphics designer? As well as probably knowing that Julian is gay... All of which would just wipe out this strip's joke, of course, but the problem struck me so quickly that the joke didn't have time to even raise a smile.

Not that it's exactly hilarious, mind you. Oh well, at least we have another cast member added. Though I have a feeling that we won't see Ruby for a long time, if at all; for one thing, her primary plot arc was completed, and resolving her secondary plot thread (her relationship with Amber) would distract from the nominal focus of this comic, but more importantly, she's an actual interesting character who's already hijacked one comic, and we can't have any of that round here.

Now, is this scene going to carry on with yet more dull dialogue and obnoxious thought balloons from Aaron, or is there a chance we'll at least have a new scene soon? Because this comic really needs to develop a point, soon, or I don't know what it'll do for readers. I mean, I'm only here out of habit.

Seems Giz has tried ( and succeeded ) at making a character much less unlikable than Matt.

Maybe that's the point.

Sigh. Moderate signs of improvement, though not huge. Certain characters still not very pleasant to be around. I would complain more, but after getting showered with sweary words in the SotR forum I'd rather not push my luck.

Having been to quite a few cons (albeit the last was a while ago), I've noticed that watching an artist draw, albeit interesting, isn't a huge draw. At least not as much of a draw (oh look, pun - Not intended) as everyone is expecting this to be. Or is this only due to being at a convention where artists working is over saturated?

Possibly. I'm the patron on Patreon of several artists. All of them have a livestreaming tier and from what I can tell, that tier tends to be popular. To the point where one of the artists has decided to expand that tier because of the popularity. At a con, there's other things to see and also time is a factor. An artist has to turn over a lot of work to make a profit. Livestreaming usually involves the artist drawing but also interacting with viewers, answering questions, joking, etc.

So, yeah, I can't really imagine a ton of people coming to the shop to watch Felix unless the titles get popular. But livestreaming? They might have something there.

It's nice seeing one familiar face.

Maybe with Sandra on the Rocks ending and Marie moving to Montreal we might see her stop by to reconnect with her inner geek.

F@#K? I know the nipple ban has curtailed nudity, but I didn't think this now applies to profanity.

:And my interest has been relit! Thank goodness, I was struggling for a bit there, after Aaron revealed himself to be so. . .difficult to like. I mean, Ramona's great, but I feel like she shines best when she's opposite characters who are more prone to hysterical outbursts, like Angel or Ruby, and the dynamic with Zadie's just not really doing it for me yet. But Julian seemed like such a sweetheart in Dillon's spinoff comic---still immature, but he had a softness to him that made me really curious how he was going to develop over time---and it seemed like such a waste that he was introduced so shortly before the comic's big hiatus, which then left him in this position where it didn't really make SENSE to lavish much attention when the final chapter was announced. Having him join the cast of this new comic would definitely get me to check in regularly to see where his story goes. :-bd

The comics rarely tend to much profanity at all, redacted or not. I recall a few eyebrows being raised when Sonya used the word “screwing” (while doing precisely that to Gary). I think it’s more about the intended naughty-but-not-crude tone; having people dropping too many overt F-bombs would just look clumsy.

I recall Matt and Kiley using it albeit accurately since sexual activity was involved.

Double negative makes him (sorta) likable. Did you mean much less likable, or maybe much more unlikable? And I never really disliked Matt, just kinda "meh" about him, mainly because he was good for/with Yuki.
