I have to wonder about Montreal Rent, if he can pay 700 a month to his parents and not have his own place (and wonder what he does to afford it).

...
But given that I like my privacy... not unless I really needed the money or he turned out to have some serious redeeming qualities.
Like an ability to shut up on command and stay quiet. ^^;

I'd say that his parent's basement is MUCH better than anything one could get for $700 a month in the city. Anything a person could get for that price would pretty much be a rat hole in the slums. Unless rent indices are very different in Canada than the States. Also, there is more to having your own place than simply paying the rent. Power probably being chief amongst them. Add to that he would have to buy and prepare his own meals and even at $700 for his parents basement Aaron's getting a pretty good deal.
