Okay, so now Zadie isn't excessively smart. Or maybe she just has a thing for 19-year-olds.

Can't see these two working as a couple, though, unless she's really, really into acting as a mother figure. Though for that matter, I could say exactly the same about Gary and Peggy.

Typical. Characters are only as smart as the gag de jour allows them to be. Practically a hallmark of this creative team at this point.

Yeah, they don't need to worry.

Presumably Zadie is attracted to the youthful exuberance and seemingly juvenile interests that she can share with younger men, but fails to take into account the fact that since they are 19, i.e. teenagers, they are far more likely to be immature and unable to live up to her other expectations in a relationship.

... I'm still really liking the art... Don't know about the new series yet. I don't dislike the characters so far, well, maybe Aaron because he is obnoxious, but Zadie is still early days, and I find Jung and Ramona to be capable supporting characters, however, dull leads, if that is what they are meant to be now. I am fine having neutral feelings for a while at least. (Hell, leaps and bounds above that shall not be named despicable so-called fantasy "comedy," and other than that, not hating characters is a pleasant relief)

And Aaron is leaving the shop in the outfit. Ballsy indeed.

We should perhaps be careful here; so far, Zadie is just going out for a smoothie with Aaron. The trend doesn't look good, but she's not exactly let him move in yet.

Agreed pretty much entirely. I mean, one probably isn't meant to like Aaron (at this point, anyway), but he serves his purpose in the story, and these comics would be horribly dull if all the characters were blandly likable. But I'm still not sure what the point of the comic is. Ma3 was an energetic, fairly explicit sex comedy with very different characters colliding and managing to get on while they made stupid mistakes; SDB was a character-driven story about two people sparking off each other while working through a little bit of soap opera and sex comedy; SotR is a wild, unrealistic high-drama comedy set against a flashy background with some flamboyant characters -- and they all established their intentions fairly clearly within a few strips of starting. (Though SDB had a false start with Amber, who sank down to secondary status.) So far, PTC is about ... four people working in a shop. Gosh. So much potential for excitement there.

(The last time Giz worked on a similar concept, with Cool Cat Studio, the plot went charging off in insane directions, possibly because sanity just wasn't going to work. Hmm.)

The quality of the art pretty much goes without saying.

Priorities. He has a date of sorts. For someone like him, that's what matters here.

Agreed. In the Ma3verse, it has been that way since Strip 1, panel 4.

I'm just hoping we'll get some actual character development with this character, because so far, the only thing she's given us is that she was in a serious relationship with a 19 year old that cheated on her. I mean, it's cool we are seeing how some of the cast from MA3 are doing, but I feel like this could have been held off till after we spend a little time to get to know the main protagonist.

I am not liking this development at all.

Set your timer for how long it will take him to realize this. Getting a girl to go out and get even a nonalcoholic beverage is a rare thing so he’s probably too dazzled to know.

Actually, it’s just possible that we’re doing Zadie an injustice. We’ve already seen that she can be a tiny bit manipulative; suppose her intention here is to drink her smoothie, flutter her eyelashes a little bit — and acquire herself a reliable slavish ally in any office politics and a source of background gossip on the boss and her paramour?

Agreed. This is almost certainly part of her long con.
