Whew. Crisis averted, situation salvaged, Dillon's better judgement prevails. Huzzah for common sense!

Seems everyone, certainly me at least, underestimated Dillon, as he does seem to be capable of showing restraint and using reason...
That said, the reveal that Jaxon - yuck... Sorry if that's anyone's name, but the spelling is kind of off to me - anyway, as i was saying, the reveal that Jaxon is Jerzy's godson makes demon Dillon and angel-demon Ruby's imagined incident in the previous update really, really disturbing. Maybe it was simply a miscalculation? Or perhaps could be an indication that, deep down, Dillon is neither ready nor capable of sustaining a long-term romantic relationship; to give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps Matt's whoring and unfaithfulness left a psychological scar in Dillon - a la with Ross in Friends - (probably not helped by Jerzy's own capriciousness) so that he will always assume the worst of his partners, or at the very least be unable to trust in their fidelity.

Also, imagined Ruby is weirdly one-dimensional, which doesn't do her justice at all. I think it is probably merely for the sake of a simple joke, but it is odd, even interesting, that Dillon's imagined Amber is the singularly focused voice of reason, while Ruby is a slobbering yaoi-obsessed buffoon.

The shoulder sprites are not the “real” people — they’re representations of those sides of Dillon’s personality. The real Amber was never much good at reining in Dillon’s worst impulses, and the real Ruby is perfectly capable of having her conscience overrule her yaoi obsession. But the gag needed the best fits it could find; Amber is (marginally) more practical than Dillon, and Ruby does have a thing for yaoi.

And while Dillon does just about control himself in panel 1 there, the script lets him off lightly; making Jaxon Jerzy’s godson makes it easy for Dillon to accept there’s nothing shady there (devil-Dillon notwithstanding). Which means that Dillon isn’t yet actually established to be over his jealousy issue, though he may be getting there. (And Jerzy clearly recognises what’s going on.)

And... Hmm. Jaxon may be straight for all we know. Whatever the case, wonder if his wedding ties off any more loose ends? I’m not sure what they’d be; maybe he’s marrying Felicia?

Godson? Never thought of that. I thought Jaxon might be some other relation, but Zii once made that mistake with Eric so I didn't think they'd repeat the same joke.

Good to see Dillon reign in his impulses for once. Perhaps there is hope for him after all.

How old are Jerzy and Dillon? I had the impression that godparents were, well, parental age at the time of the godchild's birth. Saying that Dillon & Matt were about the same age as Gary at the start of the comic - about 30 - and that Dillon and Jerzy are also close in age (just because)... and that Jaxon is 18 when he is planning on tying the knot... that places Jerzy at about 12 if he was made Jaxon's godparent?

I suppose there is quite a lot of wiggle room there, and I admit I don't know much about Catholicism (assuming that is the religion basing this through) but I'm a little confused here.

Episcopalians can be godparents too.

But yeah, I was just thinking the exact same thing. I’d be very surprised if anyone was asked to take that job before their late teens at the earliest, so if Jaxon is of marriageable age, that puts Jerzy well into his 30s. Guess he looks after himself well.

She's a four-H girl: Horns, Halo, Horny, Hysterical.

Now if only Dillon can keep his drama queen side reeled in.

My guess is, it allows them to put them together in something sexual, without you finding out they're actually related, even though it was all just in someone's head, but the writers know some one may make some "Ewww...they're related" comment.

Godson means they're not related in any way.

Not necessarily unrelated; my godfather is my uncle.

It logically means that they don’t have to be blood relations. But anyhow, if they were, I’d assume that Jerzy would have said so — “my nephew” (or whatever) rather than “my godson”.

So Dillon does have a thing for older men as was hinted at during the "twincest" arc with Amber and Nathan.

I know... Sigh. I just thought it interesting that Dillon's subconscious chose those particular roles for the sisters; as in, it raises questions as whether this is how Dillon perceives the sisters (i.e. Amber is the sensible/responsible one, Ruby is the impulse-driven one), or if it is only a small reflection of certain attributes he noticed in them, which displays either more or less aptitude for perception in him, depending upon interpretation. Then again, perhaps the personas could only be for the joke.
I understand the angel and demon sprites are not literally the characters, so your choice to point it out seems to show a sadly low expectation of the intelligence of others.

Well, Amber sorted out the trick that got them both the apartment, so he may see her as "practical", but beyond that... Frankly, Amber has never been developed as much of a character -- apart from "likes sex (a lot)", her responses to events have mostly been quite routine, or just whatever the plot needed at the time -- so we haven't seen Dillon being given much to base an opinion on. From the readers' point of view, I guess that she's nice enough, but she seems to live in the moment and do whatever she'll most enjoy, providing that it isn't too obviously evil, and without much thought as to how other people will feel about it -- she tricked Gary into going down on her, she stopped hanging out with Ruby when the option of sex with Zii became available, and she screwed Ray almost in front of Dillon and Ruby when the kissing turned out to be really hot. Which makes her look a bit unthinking at best, and makes it easy enough to define her as seriously flawed. (And she doesn't want her parents to know that she's a porn star, but, well, she became a porn star in the first place; how long did she think the secret would last?) But Dillon calls her "beautiful and caring", which can be put down to Dillon being sloppy and sentimental about his friends, but is still his opinion, and may be based on stuff the readers haven't seen. (I guess he knows about her keeping her porn work secret from her parents, being nervous about meeting Zii again, and letting Ruby have a bed in town without question, which could justify the "caring" part in a way.) So from his point of view, she works as a practical sort of shoulder angel.

As for Ruby -- obviously he knows about the yaoi love, so she works for him as a symbol of amoral libido. But he's previously shown respect for her moral judgement, as when she criticised his treatment of Ray; his whole series of attempts to get his stuff together and stop making dumb mistakes came from his conversations with her. So in another story, she could function perfectly well as his shoulder angel -- provided that there weren't too many cute guys involved.
