She only said that she was not completely bi because she would miss men too much, and she was a one or a two on the Kinsey Scale, which means that she does predominantly men, but occasionally she can do women. So she never said that she was "vanilla straight", only that she likes boys more than girls, not that she only likes boys.

About the "going down" hypothesis, I don't know, it's true that if she remembers Bianca's tongue at the same level of Gary's Swirly, it's no wonder if cunnilingus is the main thing she likes... But it's not the only thing she enjoys, for example: Matt did the job when they met by accident, she thought he was Gary and when she found out his name was Matt she said "I wish all my mistakes worked out this well"... And let's not forget that now she has another move that she loves and fits perfectly with her name.

I'm sure there is literature on the differences between vaginal versus clitoral orgasms, and blended ones for that matter too. Technique, size, affection, nerve concentration, genetics... there are so many variables that to simply state that Peggy doesn't "meet the requirements for plain vanilla straight" isn't accurate. Some women can achieve orgasm stronger & harder via clitoral stimulation. Part of penile/vaginal sex has to include some amount of nerve stimulation of the clitoris just due to proximity. Some women are too sensitive there to enjoy clitoral stimulation much.

Besides: what the heck (and indeed who gets to decide what) is vanilla sex? Pretty sure blowjobs count, at least according to certain politicians. Seems fair that almost anything that is in a mainstream porno counts too, maybe even including threesomes and pizza delivery drivers & cable repair men. I'm not judging, but the question is meant to be rhetorical.

This can go one of a few ways, either we see jealous Gary for once (I hope we don't, since the two aren't technically in a relationship), a more level headed Gary (this it he path I want to see him go down, where he's willing to sit down and talk with Peggy and try and move towards the relationship that it's hinting towards), finally we have the Gary that will go have sex with someone else (which may be Zii, but god I hope not).

Yes, I get what Zii was saying at the start of the little roller coaster, but she has no clue what a relationship really is either at this point. Evidenced by her own situation with Didi. Four people in one small apartment, in Canada, with no idea what they need for a healthy relationship... Wow, typing that out really makes this seem like a 90's sitcom. But I guess that has really been the point all along. Sitcom in print. Tally ho!
Yes, it would seem as though Zii inadvertently put that notion in Gary's head. There was some previous pillow talk where Peggy talked about how she was more interested in just having fun and Gary didn't think anything more about his relationship with her. It's really for the best that he just not think about it.

But he did think about it, and even though the reasons came from Zii, they weren’t entirely stupid. Now he’s discovered that it may not fly, and so he’s sad about that, which again is only natural. How he reacts remains to be seen, but we don’t have any evidence yet that the new, basically sensible Gary has vanished; “hopeful” and “sad” are just normal human emotions, not geeky idiocy.

A mutual sympathy session with Zii seems very likely, and that developing into something more seems quite possible on recent evidence (and with the clock ticking on the comic). One possibility is that Zii will break out the booze; on past form, Gary rarely drinks, but has no moral objections to the stuff, and so just doesn’t handle it well when he succumbs, while Zii tends to drink hard when she’s down. This could lead to what might look like classical bad judgement but actually be in vino veritas.

As Sonya says (...I think...) everyone is bi in Ma3. (Except Maura, Tess, and Annie - odd since the lattermost's counterpart is certainly bi, but nevermind, this ain't a Willis comic.)

Certainly has been enough of that from these characters. #-o

Let me see, at least until now, Gary, Ruby, Maura, Kiley and Tess are straight; Lynn, Roxie, Brandy and Dillon are gay... the rest are bi or lean that way...

Oh if you're including SDB you could also mention the two men in Angel's life, Richie and Jerzy: one is 100% straight, the other 100% gay. (It's quite amazing, if you think about it, that Angel is dating both on them... lol, genderfluid ftw!)

But I wouldn't peg Ruby as straight yet. So far, except for being turned on by yaoi, she doesn't even seem to have a sexual drive. Last time we saw her she was planning to have sex with Andy, who is a hot guy and a chick magnet, but she was handling it like an experiment, with zero passion. So far, we don't have a clue about what really floats her boat.

Sure, she is taking this as an experiment, but one thing is clear: She is a fujoshi, which means she likes men, and until now she has not shown that she also likes women, so i put her as straight until new evidence comes out...

Jerzy claims he’s gay now, but even he admits that he was functionally bi in the past, and frankly he’s a pretty convincing portrait of blatant denial.

So far, we don't have a clue about what really floats her boat.
She takes every opportunity going to ogle or fantasise about men, and though she could have simply told Andy to get knotted when he appeared to be proposing sex, she instead took advice from her friends on how to go about it. And she’s shown less than zero interest in lesbianism. (Zii’s pass just bounced off.) She looks pretty darned straight to me, with a working libido under a layer of repression that’s melting as we watch.

She’s an introverted virgin, so she isn’t throwing herself at the idea with extrovert enthusiasm, but that’s just nervousness. If she’d suddenly started acting hyper-keen, I’d have said she was trying too hard.

(And don’t knock the careful-cerebral approach to first-time sex. It worked for Jung and Ramona.)

;))
I'm gonna really surprise you now.
There are scores of lesbians out there who LOVE yaoi. Yup. B-) You can trust me on this one: I'm a veteran of the yaoi/slash social networks, and you can't even begin to imagine how many women I've met there who are confirmed lesbians. Heck, get this: the founder of the old YSML of long ago (the 1st online community evar for yaoi fans) was a very nice American lesbian lady who liked to write long panegyrics about her favorite guys in yaoi manga, and often told us how she sometimes found herself wishing that her lovers (who obviously were women) would be more like this or that yaoi character she was a fan of. I remember she once wrote that, in her opinion, the most sexiest thing in this world was the image of a man taking it in the ass. *smile* She eventually moved to Japan, to be closer to the BL scene.

If you can't figure why lez women would like man-on-man sights, we-e-ell, you should perhaps consider that there's an underlying ambiguity in the imagery of all gayness and that the visual symbolism as perceived by spectators is not as definite clear-cut black-and-white as a non-queer literal analysis of the representations would have the naive reviewer think. Or to put it in simpler terms:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
- Hamlet, 1.5.167-8

You really surprised me... Lesbians love yaoi, what's next? straight women love yuri? :D

I know that yaoi appeals to more than straight women and gay men, and i know there are tons of explanation for that, my take in all that is usually "if you like it that's fine"...

I guess i didn't explained correctly when i said that Ruby was a fujoshi, it's true that a woman that enjoys yaoi is a fujoshi, but i was referring to the more "urban" meaning of the term, which is "women who get aroused by imagining two (or more) guys loving each other." (like Serinuma Kae in Watashi Ga Motete Dousunda) That's Ruby, it's not just about liking yaoi, she likes seeing guy-on-guy action, she gets aroused by it, so that means that she likes guys... Of course, she could like gals too, but the evidence so far shows that women don't ring her bell (like Spidrift said, Zii’s pass just bounced off.), that's why i say that she is straight until proven otherwise.

Well, straight guys love yuri, I don't see that sexual preference plays a great deal in that. :ymdevil:

Also what I have read about women and yaoi is they see more romance in yaoi than they see elsewhere.

And her comes the ugly portions of Gary I suppose. but most everyone has that aspect
He's not looking ugly so far. Understandably sad isn't ugly.
Ugly emotions I meant. negative. the generalized term.
and I would say, while sad yes, the emotion that stands out to me is the jealousy/slight envy portion. Which is very human. but still my least favorite part of any story. Hence I define that as an ugly emotion. A real one but not enjoyable for me to read.
