Yes. There's a place for that and it's the Dangerously Chloe forum.

I don't see how this is creepy since Zii is the one that invited him and porn is a shared interest.

It's another cute albeit unconventional sitcom moment.

I keep forgetting how much of a creep he is.
There are many, even most, women, with whom this would be creepy even from a close male friend.

Zii is really, really, really not one of them.
What makes you think Gary would bring up this subject with any other woman besides Zii? Their shared interest in porn is the only reason he would bring this subject up with her.

You’re correct, but he doesn’t need to have a shared interest to suggest she watch porn with stories, since he knew she liked those things and she would have shared that information with him even if he didn’t like them. However, the fact that he does helps with the punchline and really pushes with the warm fuzzies.

Oh, I meant I forgot about his allegedly-gargantuan porn collection.
I wouldn't color him a creep because of his porn collection. He wasn't doing g anything lascivious (okay by definition he is). Besides, it was mostly of Amber Amber and he gave all of it to her we he saw her as a real person and not a masturbatory aid, so it's probably not that big anymore if there's anything left.
Well, if his collection was that huge, subtracting the box he gave to Amber might still leave a lot.

But no, Gary’s porn collection was never there to show him as a high-grade creep. He was a pathetic shut-in who couldn’t relate to people, including women, at all well, so that was his only sexual outlet — and being a geek (and a comedy geek at that), he naturally took the collecting impulse to excess. But having some porn around isn’t terribly unusual for a man, I’m afraid, and Gary seems to have retained a healthy understanding of the difference between fantasy and reality — especially after he met Amber in the flesh.

And this strip appears to show Gary joking, even slightly at his own expense, while referring back to that long-ago conversation. Quite likeably un-creepy, really.
It's funny that he actually bought physical media. He was really dedicated to her and Chanelle Fine.
This may be a slight case of technology marching on. Once upon a time, physical media was the only option — and even eight years or so ago, when Gary’s habits were being defined in this comic, the idea that you could reasonably store everything digitally was still fairly new. And this comic always does show the writers’ ages a little bit, in things like the characters’ musical tastes.

Plus, Gary. Total geek. Obsessive collector.

Now that's a prescription I could get behind.

To me this series has always been a long series of interludes between quiet moments of these two sitting down and having a convo, from their first about flicking cream at gary's face to where they are now. It is a shame that over the long course of the series we didn't get more of these two, but then again they both seem to be each other's rock to run into after a bunch of bumps. I'm pretty ok with these two never hooking up and just being the good friends they are, even if the possibility of some threesome with didi is possible that I'm really hoping we've dodged

It's possible that rational conversations between Zii and Gary are like appearances by Jung -- all the better for being relatively scarce. (And not just because the writers might run out of ideas if they had to repeat the trick too often.)

And as Sandra noted a very long time ago, any kind of group sex involving DiDi is going to be a bad idea for everyone except DiDi, and probably not that great for her. Everyone else would be distracted from each other by naked DiDi, and DiDi herself has no clue how to improvise being nice to any other human being, and so would leave everyone else confused and frustrated. For the readers, it'd be like watching a train wreck (but with boobs, which would be strangely ineffective at making it better).

Actually, this forum is subject to floods of Didi-hate and Zii-hate. Frequency of occurrence, velocities of the floodwaters and resulting flood damage are, for what I've seen, not all that different from those in the DC forum. :-??

Is there any evidence of Gary being a drummer in his high school band? J/K, wasn't he home schooled? That would make as much sense as Sonya suddenly remembering that she played bass and Didi accidentally stumbling into wrestling though.

Wut?

Gary has (a) talked about girls, plural, who he knew when young, in terms that suggest to me that he went to some kind of school, (b) never said anything about home schooling, and (c) never mentioned any musical activity on his own part whatsoever.

(I suspect that you’re over-extrapolating from him mentioning a religious upbringing to home-schooling. I guess it’s an American stereotype.)

"I'm just that good a friend" might be a callback to Dillon.

We've seen Zii use that exact line not that long ago as well: http://www.ma3comic.com/strips-ma3/prac ... e-practice

My first thought upon reading this comic was: "Watching porn together ==> Enacting porn together"

A long time ago, a girl told me she had never seen gay porn. Her other friend (who was her ex) would likely have NEVAR ever contemplated the idea of watching gay porn, even with her. I sure did, and wondered how that might turn out... But, alas, it never came to pass. By now, I'm sure she's had any number of opportunities to watch gay porn if she wants to.

... Zii might prefer a porn regime, but I don’t think she or Gary have the skill set necessary to give rise to an authoritarian hentai-based government.
With a whisper, and then a roar, the revolution began. Men and women took the streets demanding their rights to enjoy good smut not be diminished. Let porn with stories reign supreme throughout the land and let no man, or woman, be judged for their tastes and fetishes. Then, amongst the rising tide of sexual freedom, the riotous orgies began. And that, my friends, is how the revolution came... giggitty.
... and the Boneularity ensued.

Come on, do I have to do ALL the work here? :P
