Anyway, alas, sports fans, or rather not sports fans, the wrestling arc has returned (personally, I'm indifferent)! Though, it makes sense to go to the wrestling side of things, since it seems as though the current plot has been building up to Lynn swooping in to conquer DiDi.
There are two possible reasons to complain about the wrestling stuff in this comic: (1) It introduces a whole clutch of not-terribly-different-or-interesting new characters into the continuity late in the day, diverting attention from the established main cast with whom we’ve become engaged, just as their character arcs should be going somewhere important. (2) It’s a trivial load of old tosh, stuffed full of wrestling-geek in-jokes and pointless expies of characters from a couple of deservedly dead comics.
The sort of stories we’ve been getting lately are open to objection (1), but not to objection (2). They’re about Tess, Maura, and so on, but they aren’t really about wrestling, much, and the expy nonsense is played down. And this one is largely about DiDi, one of the core cast (though the least interesting of them). So for now, my own grumblings will be muted.

At least Spidrift's post will be entertaining.
For some reason, people iften seem to expect me to be entertaining about strips concerning which I find little to say.
He says, and then rambles on interminably.
I would have to agree with him in that we're being trolled.
Just to be 100% clear: I used the word “trolled” when we’d been told that SDB would be back in January, but it was becoming increasingly clear that wasn’t going to happen. Since then, Giz has made the change of plan explicit. So, as an SDB fan, I may feel frustrated, but I’m not going to say that I’m feeling
trolled any more.
And Didi has now become detestable and insufferable. I have no sympathy for her.
She’s certainly being written as a fairly horrible person — and, much worse, not in an entertaining or particularly complex way, unlike most of the rest of the cast. But note this strip isn’t really about her. She’s not the character appearing in all four panels.

Roxie doesn't like Didi and was immune to the loopy effects of Didi's aura. I hope she has the willpower to ignore her cravings.
I don’t think that’s the angle we’re getting here. If you look, there’s some classic comedy numerology going on; DiDi is whining about not having sex for three
days, when Roxie hasn’t got laid for three
months. And “SNAP” doesn’t sound like someone succumbing to her cravings; it’s more like someone’s temper giving way.
Given that, yes, Roxie has historically had little time for DiDi’s bullshit, I’m guessing that she may be about to explode in DiDi’s face.

Made me feel bad for Roxie though. She did care, she just wanted to be exclusive.
That was made fairly clear the first time Brandy showed up; she started flirting with DiDi, and Roxie did a “here we go again” eye-roll. See

Didi will turn over a new leaf or fall in love with a solar powered sex robot.
“Waaah! J’ai la frustration sexuelle, et le sun-rise n’est pas for un autre ten minutes!”
Oh, and we note that Giz has given herself yet more work restoring the nipples to the print version of this strip.
