Here's hoping this ends with Tracy and James in mandatory sexual harassment training.

We've seen enough of Peggy goodness to be okay with missing out on some more. Though, truthfully, tad disappointed, but quite relieved it didn't cut to that horrid DiZi duo.
This comic genuinely isn't porn. Well, it certainly isn't just porn. It shows sex when it's relevant to the plot - which is a lot of the time, but not every time. Showing Gary doing stuff with Peggy would have been superfluous - and his line to her was a nice third-time's-the-charm confirmation that he'd finally passed the age of 18. Dragging the scene out after that would just have been limp, no matter how rigid Gary got.
Dunno about anyone else, but I would've liked seeing Peggy get pegged for once. But I guess it's not funny, and this comic is more about the funny than anything else, including sex scenes.

Anyway, time for Gary's new spine to be tested, and what a test it's going to be. Hope your resolve holds, Gary old boy.

Given that management there includes Yvan, that may be too much to hope for.

I know there’s been some debate about angles and positions and such, but — print volume bonus strip?

By the way, am I the only reader who gets the feeling that Giz and/or Dave must have had some kind of bad experiences with feminism? I mean, okay, Yuki’s stuff about patriarchal phallocrats was just Yuki being crazy, and Ruby does sometimes manage to live up to her claims to be a self-actualising independent woman, despite the comic leaning on her to get a man — but now we’ve got James, the first male in the entire fictional universe to think about the subject, who not only turns out to be an idiotic jargon-spouting wannabe white knight, but who’s also a badly closeted bisexual, maybe trending gay.

I think that the technical term is “Unfortunate Implications”.

In the, aprox, words of Rincewind the Wizzard..."Run, run and dont look back... because looking back will only slow you down, and nothing you see will make you run faster if you are already doing your best...".

I hope Gary heeds those words now..

I've met James' type before. I ashamed to say I've had times when I've acted just like him. It's chauvinism dressed up as feminism. He's so busy running a script in his mind about how things should go that he's completely ignoring the real person in front of him. Also, despite his claims of gender equality, he sees Tracy as someone who needs to be protected from her own decisions like a child. I think the gay/bi part is just G&D adding more humor to the situation. Remove that and the faux feminism angle and James is disturbingly close to a controlling abuser.

Chauvinism or solipsism? And have you never met a feminist who was both sincere and sane? Or a male feminist sympathiser who was straight?

<Officer> "Mam, point out on the doll where the bad man touched you..."

<Tracy> **Points at the doll's head.** "James hurt me in the head. He hurt me in the head with all of his stupidity..."

<Officer> "Well, works for me. Bring him in, boys!"

I've met both. And I know a gay MRA supporter (which isn't to say that I like him). I was just pointing out that there are real people like James. And let's face it, according to MA3 philosphy, being straight and/or sane is boring. Not to mention exceedingly rare. Too many of plots over the years would've ended in one or two strips by someone simply being reasonable. ESPECIALLY this current one.

It's chauvinism dressed up as feminism.
In linguistics, they call it semantic decrement: feminism (like "freedom" and "democracy" and many other overused political terms) is a word that has pretty much lost all meaning. Everyone has a different idea of what it means, and they all claim theirs is the right one. James is a caricature; he parodies a certain version of feminism, the one that believes that phalli sully women and, when pushed to the extreme, that only armpit sex is acceptable and all PIV is rape.

James isn't at that point yet -- but, little by little, he's getting closer.
We, the old ghosts of Pizen Bluff, who still roam about this dead forum screaming imprecations at the characters and whatnot.

I knew it! I knew their relationship was going to fall off the tracks! Sparks may fly when two stones are ground together, but that doesn't make them lovebirds! It happened before, and it's happened again!

Had hoped we'd seen the last of those two, though, at least until something more interesting had time to happen or another plot thread had the chance to be pulled. Never really was that interested in Tracy after James and his BJ issues were introduced; had hoped she'd either be the minder friend who forced Gary to stop being stupid, or a sensible girlfriend whose main comedic shtick was something like what Peggy does nowadays (being bemused at the antics of everyone else, but using it to her advantage at times). Suppose there was only so much sanity and intelligence to go around, I'm afraid. I guess this is the plot now, though, so there's nothing to do but roll with it.

Still, James appears to be out of the closet (or at least honest with himself and Tracy about being attracted to Gary), so that's something. And this could be an opportunity for Gary to further strengthen our faith in him by refusing to be part of their nonsense and/or coming clean about the grapefruit thing and telling James to get his own. As long as this leads to reinforcement of his vertebrae rather than destruction I'm all for whatever happens next.

I feel like some transition would have helped here, because my first thought was "how did they know Gary was at Peggy's place?"
I may be wrong but would not Peggy place be Gary place too? As in, they are roomates still atm.

Yes. Furthermore, Gary's place (with or without Peggy) doesn't have double glass doors and a receptionist...

This.

I used to describe myself as a "feminist," but now, if you ask me whether I'm a feminist, I'm going to have to ask you what you mean by "feminist." Because my answer could be anywhere from "yes, of course" to "OMFG not just no but HELL NO" depending on the version of "feminism" in question.

It simply is not a useful or meaningful word any longer because it's become too broad. That's not to say that no writings described as "feminist" have meaning any more, mind you -- just that the term itself encompasses too many different and often directly conflicting ideologies to be of any real use any longer.
