Advice? I'm equally confused.
Go back a strip - it'll lift your confusion.

I'm taking suggestions for the choice of dramatic music to play as Gary walks away
This is Gary; so, it has to be geeky or video game influenced.

So, I'm thinking this (most probable) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOhnKIVLzOw

this...

Or this (for ultimate hilarity)...

Please, don't come to me expecting me to fix your problems.

If we're looking for walk away music, there is one choice.

One word: Seagulls.

Or three words: Not the Future (just for the start and the music, frankly)

To take the discussion back to the comic itself, though: I'm actually really liking Ma3 more after this one. The character development is great, and I find it to be relatively realistic. Certainly the comic itself and the situations are a little... extreme, but the way character change over time and through the (somewhat absurd) situations really do seem similar to how people change and develop in the real world. That aspect of writing is something very few writers ever come close to grasping, let alone mastering.

Edit: Of all the times to think of this... and it fits Gary being a nerd, too.

Considering Gary's current high spirits... my suggestion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0FphcAh3T8 :D
That's good but Spiderman 3 ruined it for me. I'd go with https://youtu.be/6egiLH_ag8k?t=51s

Largely a body language-based update, which is totally fine.
Agreed on that. We tend to take the sheer quality of Giz’s character art for granted, and we shouldn't.

She was still oblivious that it was her advice Gary used to exit James's place.
To be fair, it’s a few days since she made what she probably thought of as a throwaway remark to Gary.
While Tracy's advice giving is the one in the spotlight right now, I can't help but also remember the advice given to him to not slouch. Other than being prone and having to look up because of it, has Gary ever been shown in a similar pose?
Without trawling through hundreds of strips of Gary just walking around — his slouch has always been a big part of his characterisation. (Confused by the times that other artists have drawn him, who don’t do slouching so well.) This is a fairly generic but effective “cool comics character” pose, and hence certainly not classic Gary.
James's parting words were just representative of how stupid he really is. Sorry, dude, but you've lost Tracy.
Not sure about that. Gary’s parting words to the pair of them in the last strip seemed to imply that he could see that their relationship needed work, but that it was probably worth working on — and her line in panel 1 this time suggests that she still defines her own value by how desirable James finds her. They’ve become a couple along the way, and now they have either to reinforce their coupledom or to consciously de-couple.

And who wants to be like Chris and Gwyneth?

Actually, Tracy seems to be rather like Matt in her attitude to Gary. She likes him, bears him no malice — but she can’t bear the thought of being out-competed by him. Because he’s just Gary, whereas she, like Matt, defines herself as a sexual adept. And vanity is a rather ugly vice sometimes.
I wonder if they ever got to the chocolate cake? Shame for it to have gone to waste.
They ate dinner before getting down to sex. I assumed it was the dessert.

I'm sorry, everyone, but this is Gary's theme song for cool times and nobody can change it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf_qfX9cKsQ

"You're at your best when when the goin' gets rough, when you're standin' your ground!"

now he can sing it with pride, lol

I don't think Tracy has ever got to know Gary's "virgin loser" past. She has met him at porn star orgy and her various thought bubbles seem to imply she thinks he's some kind of sexual savant. Gary never had a chance to mention to her he was a virgin not so long ago and it's not usual situation for him so I don't think this comparison to Matt is very accuratte. Matt's whole beef with Gary was based on him not wanting to be out-competed by his nerdy friend.

My my. Then the initial walking away wasn't just a one-off burst of unexpected courage that immediately vanishes after. He tried it out, and it didn't scare him after all. In fact, he liked it.

This may very well be the end of an era: a farewell to "Garybot."

Oh, they’re not identical. And based on their very first encounter, she might have thought of him as a savant (though she was having to help him with a paralysed jaw and a draconic landlady by the end of that encounter, so she probably didn’t think of him as exactly a perfectly cool dude). But on their second meeting, he made a fool of himself in the coffee shop and she ended up strangling him.

I think that Tracy got Gary’s number fairly quickly.

It may be much simpler.
"The guy I like and want to give everything to keeps pushing me away and dominating our fun times, but now he's willing to give his all to someone else! Right in front of me!"
Add extra angst if it bothers Tracy that James is willing to go to lengths he won't go to with her with a man.

All's well that ends well. I just hope the plot switches back to Angel and Sonya's scheme.

Yes, that. Exactly.

By the way, panel 1 is quite ambiguous. The statement "Oh, so you're turned on by lovers leaving you? Well, watch me leave you!" could be taken as Tracy's way of telling James they're through, or simply as another attempt at outdoing Gary and securing first place in James's heart. If it's the first one, I feel sorry for James. Poor guy. Worst birthday evar!

... but it's probably the second one. :-??
