Only sane woman or not, there are evidently limits to how much Peggy can deal with. Especially just before a shift.

Nice to see that she has confidence in her own charms, anyhow, and that she retains her sense of adventure. And that I’m not the only person to note the big practical issue for Gary.

Just like I posted in the last thread, the show must go on. And what is the point of this idiot plot anyway? Is it just to make Gary squirm or will this actually lead to character development for Gary? I'm hoping it leads to character development because even Didi has had more character development than Gary.

If Gary goes through with this, how disappointed will Dillon be when he finds out he wasn't Gary's first butt-buddy?

Sigh... I need to facepalm. My palm is not enough. Both of my palms are not enough. I need assistance. Can anyone lend me extra palms? Please? X_X

Dillon (and Matt) were his first roommates, before Didi & Zii. Dillon and Matt were lovers, and broke his original drawing table. Dillon was the one who taught him the Swirly Go Round (tm), before Gary modified it for his own purposes. This is the same Dillon from Sticky Dilly Buns, an off-shoot comic from Ma3 that hasn't been updated for a while now due to RL for Giz.

As to the comic strip, yeah, the show must go on. Gary didn't lie about the whole affair to Peggy. While she was frustrated at Gary for going through with something she knows he is uncomfortable doing, she did at least give him something to look at to get him more 'in the mood', which is a lot more than others might. I especially like her implication of promises of things to come between them. Peggy is flirtatious, but I feel that there is something more than just 'friends with benefits' building up between the two of them. And Gary was correct in stating he did not want to disappoint James/Tracy, just for a slightly different meaning than what Peggy was expecting. It still isn't too late, Gary, to grab a strap-on from Peggy's collection.

My only remaining concerns are:
  • if Gary starts to hallucinate Peggy's ravishing body overlaying James (or other handsome men). It has happened before to other characters in similar PTSD-like scenarios (Matt and Yuki hallucinating Gary's visage, to name a few).
  • if the stress of the event will ge to him, either by freaking out or by suffering performance issues or something similar. He could end the threesome due to it, and spill the beans on his grapefruiting of Jim... or accidentally let slip something alluding to Tracy's camgirl sidejob. Gary blurts under stress, especially since he stopped having explosive nosebleeds and fainting spells.
Either way, Gary, you made your bed. You're a silly spineless person, but you have the courage to keep your word once given... no matter the discomfort. Bottoms up, as it were.

Seems rather unfair to keep dumping on Gary. I mean, he can't expect to be allowed to change as long as his creators choose to keep him in fetters in the name of a dumb joke. We're literally yelling at the kidnapping victim for being stupid for being kidnapped when he never had a chance in hell to start with

I wonder if I'm the only one who remembers the real problem.

Even Gary seems to have forgotten it.

Blowjob, everyone. James wants a blowjob from Gary. Tracy negotiated the details, and it was agreed that Gary will blow James if James lets Gary do him up the ass. The "anal destruction" of James is supposed to be Gary's reward. If Gary forfeits his reward, hey, that's his right, Tracy and James won't really care. But the blowjob deal will still stand.

The blowjob is the one thing Gary should be worrying about, not the anal sex. This time, it's a bona fide threesome: Tracy won't leave the room and James will refuse to cover his eyes. What will our hapless hero do when they tell him to get down on his knees and start blowing?

Boning another guy in the ass is nothing next to that. Gary is in deep shit up to his neck.

Either we treat Gary as a real person, in which case he’s an idiot and merits yelling at, or we remember that he’s a fictional construct - lines on paper - in which case there’s nobody there to be unfair to. (In the latter case, yelling at Gary might be considered a proxy for yelling at Giz and Dave for creating such a frustratingly stupid character.) This comic isn’t some postmodern creation in which Gary gets to rage at the dual gods who treat him as their plaything.

And yes, as written, he’s really, really stupid and his own worst enemy. This current strip depends on him forgetting that he doesn’t want to do this thing, and he knows perfectly well that James doesn’t want this thing done to him. Saying “No” isn’t disappointing anybody. But the Garybot is not only a low-IQ construct with a defective model of mind, it runs on rails; put it on a track and that’s where it goes, even if it’s over a cliff.

Aaand the stupid triumphs yet again.

Peggy can only do so much when Gary fails to provide her all the details of that situation.

I actually got the feeling the point was for Gary to learn to say no, something many forums posters said he needed to learn to do.

It also seemed to be a way to maybe get Gary closer to Peggy and end up with her.

At the last moment our 'hero' snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
