I was kinda like him untill my mid-twenties, and when you experience nothing except being manipulated or rejetced by women for a long time, even after you end having sex, it's hard to guess what a woman want of you, espescially if she's a sex bomb like Didi, because you can think of yourself at being the target of her lust... :/

And, let's face it, he has enough experience of not getting any affection that he'll assume rejection, while getting just enough nookie that he won't suffer from optimism driven by frustration.
