Okay, so the gag sequence doesn't depend on Gary having been scragged by Maura and Tess yet (unless they've been very fast workers). So DiDi finally gets to make an explicit move on Gary, which should be interesting... Unless he's just gone down to the shops for a pint of milk.

And this strip depends on Zii attempting to exploit her musicianship, which is something we've not seen before, and confirmation that she doesn't seem too bad to casual bystanders, even when improvising desperately. Which should at least get the Troublemakers a couple of new fans. Though Maura's affections seem easily provoked...

Huh. So DiDi is capable of thinking for herself, once in a while. She's already made up her mind about Gary, so Zii's musical talent can't sway her (though it may be swaying Maura, who's even ditzier).

That'd be an in-universe explanation, anyway. The meta explanation is, of course, that Zii must never get lucky with DiDi, the person she desires the most, because there's too much comedy potential in seeing her frustrated. (Used to be the case with Gary getting lucky with anyone, but Gis and Dave finally had mercy on him, and then some. Remember when a substantial portion of the fandom was sure the comic would end with him losing his virginity?)
