Why do I get the feeling that this is a Batman villain origin story? (Not the comic - Don's post.)

God this brings back some fucking memories - back in the days of old school headlight Didi, Yuki entangling her tentacles around the story, Zii being bloodthirsty and some people's ideas of absolute evil, Gary a hopeless virgin, Kiley appearing as the world's best and most successful psychologist ever birthed, and a forum so internally vile and toxic that the blood of banned members made rivers run crimson with the hammered viscera of restless discontents. Ahhhh.... the good old days, before the great bloodbath of the devirgining swallowed the light of the forums with questionably condomy contents.

That, on the other hand, is just Warhammer 40,000 flavour text.

I wasn't a reader back then but I can imagine, from the comments so far, it was a bad time.

For me, the line "his mom doesn't cry any more" is really the kicker. Whatever else Zii did and for whatever reasons, good or bad, she helped get a woman out of a bad marriage. I'm not nominating her for sainthood, but she did good.

Which is, of course, exactly how it was described at the time. Really, some people needed to learn to take this comic at face value.

Assuming Vyndicator is a kid, isn't this technically illegal? Sending a minor a video recording of yourself naked? I'm sure the kid knows or has seen some porn, but doubting this is on the Internet.

Given the fact that he's a rather sleazy adolescent who makes full use of the Internet, I'm certain that he's seen more porn than is good for him. After all, he recognises Amber-Amber.

No one's naked. You don't see the straps? Zii just took a selfie of herself kissing Amber. That's it. And I'm pretty sure that Amber would be aware of a selfie and that it may do the rounds. A kiss is not technically porn, right?

Fair enough about Amber's knowledge. (Though if it was someone less laid-back than Amber, well, "taking a selfie of us" is one thing, "sending it to a teenage boy for use in ... adolescent activities" might be quite another.) And sure, a kiss isn't porn, though "two hot chicks, one of them a known former porn star, making out" is liable to get treated as somewhat porny, like it or not.

I'm glad the Zii/Vindicator conflict has been resolved happily. My dislike of Zii's revenge was that it seemed to me much too nasty and out of proportion.

That was, after all, a much younger and less blonde Amber. But I must admit, before Giz posted, I did wonder whether this was a picture or a video, how much was shown, and whether Amber knew it was being taken. Zii, after all, likes taking lots of pictures and doubtless videos when possible, and isn't always scrupulous about consent.

(Though it'd be nice to think that Ruby had been a good influence on her in the latter respect. Ruby's occasional job as the conscience of the Ma3 universe isn't always easy for her; it's nice to think that she can at least have the satisfaction of doing the job successfully.)

Hmm. I'm now getting all sorts of ideas to suggest for print volume bonus strips and postcards. "Zii and Amber's selfies", what Vyndicator's mother has been up to, what Ruby did with that infamous leg selfie...

I don't post here a lot but I remember the Vyndicator timeline, was his dad cheating on his mom or was this an ass-pull now to make the story-line better? Don't care either way because I know, while it might be horrible in real life, this is a fan-service comedy comic first and foremost.

Yeah, it was established back then that the mom was upset with the marriage and the dad was sleeping with his secretaries - Zii enthusiastically encouraged her to go single. I'd post the page, but Don might seep through whatever space time rip he lives in and pull me into it.

I'd certainly think it was unusual. But it's established (by his online trolling) that Vyndicator is a bit of a sleazy little jerk who enjoys attention, so it's perhaps more in character with him.

Anyhow, Oedipus, Schmoedipus - what does it matter so long as a boy lives his mother?
