I concede to Didi's arguement
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Wow... gotta love Didi. I admit her action would derail most arguments.
However in Kiley's case, it might work not because of the Didi drool factor; but rather, it would work because of Kiley's insecurity forcing her to be uncomfortable with Didi's bosom being brought forefront to the conversation and thus derailing the argument. Thus a 'win' of sorts.
I remember Didi dressing to impress for her date with Sandra, using her curves/body/derriere-apron scene to cause Sandra to go speechless. Has she been so flagrant with her body as this before, for similar reasons? Brain not working this early.

I think she's smart enough to know Kiley's weakness.
Strangely enough it would seem that Kiley's interest in wrestling may be growing or maybe she's trying to understand her patient by studying what she likes.

This might fall under the heading of 'reading too deeply', but...
Real world psychiatrists deal with a thing called transference. Basically the patient believes him or herself to be in love with their therapist. As therapy progresses and the patient becomes healthier, it usually resolves itself.
It could be that's what's going on here. Didi could be growing a bit, discovering new interests, and with a little more time could realize what she feels for Kiley isn't real.

You likely are reading too deep. DiDi's love for Kiley stems from Kiley being the only person in the world to bring her to orgasm.
Now, you''re correct that it may well fade over time as the novelty wears off. It hasn't yet, but it still could. We'll see what happens.

I probably laughed harder than I should have, but Didi using her body to win an argument or cause a distraction is nothing new.
As cute as this is I do wonder where are we going with all this.

Wow...
Has anyone in real life ever won an argument using boobs?
And this is coming from a breast aficionado. I don't think a comic title has ever captured my feelings so accurately. Please get back to Gary and Zii. Or Dillon. Or the girls of the C-verse.
Or anyone.
I'm really serious here Dave and Giz.

So we get only one strip with Zii and Gary then it's right back to the wrestling arc? I think we're being trolled.

I don't get the hate for the wrestling arc. I enjoy Didi and Kiley, and find the storyline at least as interesting and promising as anything else. It's certainly less frustrating than the sort of arbitrary self-denial Zii's putting herself through for the sake of pure will-they-won't-they-ism. Not that Zii's arc may not eventually pay off, but it seems likely to entail lots more wheel-spinning and sudden dead-ends.

DiDi may not win the argument, but she sure knows how to change the subject!

Re: 28-01-17 Barely any interest
It works in Kiley because it hits her through her insecurities. It'd work on a straight guy or an actual lesbian because it'd detonate their libidos. DiDi, being DiDi, doesn't worry about the difference.Dr. Jamming wrote:I'll note the implication tat this works on Kiley too...
I don't think of DiDi as "smart". I think that, like Izzy, she uses an empirical system of psychological control. Try something; if it works, repeat, if it doesn't, try something else.brasca wrote:I think she's smart enough to know Kiley's weakness.
Except that the first thing DiDi tries is usually "flash boobs" and that usually works. So - who needs intelligence when you have tits?
Kiley is an academic with a specialisation in psychology, and a bit of a nerd. Show her something new, and she'll try to understand what's going on and the psychology of the people involved. She may soon decide that it's obvious or boring or stupid, but she'll do the reading first.Strangely enough it would seem that Kiley's interest in wrestling may be growing or maybe she's trying to understand her patient by studying what she likes.
(Ruby would doubtless do something similar, but be impressed rather than irritated by the "$60" bit.)
I'm afraid that I've certainly seen people dominate in social situations by using more or less sexualised "charm". Flashing that much boobage is a comedy extreme version, but the basic technique is commonplace.Lokitsu wrote:Has anyone in real life ever won an argument using boobs?
I don't normally think that the Pixietrix crew change the comic on the fly in response to comment on the boards, but now, I do seriously wonder if dropping in that single Gary/Zii strip was a reaction to recent stuff here - even if it was just a way of protesting that, no, they haven't forgotten Zii. But sadly, yeah, it just ends up looking like trolling.samtheman wrote:So we get only one strip with Zii and Gary then it's right back to the wrestling arc? I think we're being trolled.
It reads like it's mostly being written in a foreign language to people who aren't wrestling fans, and the gratuitous EC references look like ham-fisted fanservice that isn't even sexy.Dr. Jamming wrote:I don't get the hate for the wrestling arc.

Re: 28-01-17 Barely any interest
I don't hate the wrestling arc. Roxie is a fun, new character and I look forward to seeing more of her. I like Maura and Tess, they're much more likeable than they were in EC. They're goofy and comic relief, but good hearted overall. I don't really care one way or another about the other EC cameos- it mostly just makes me miss EC and MC even more.
And then there's DiDi.
I've ranted about her enough already, so I won't bring up old news. I enjoy her more when she's with Roxie or the girls, which is why I've been pretty quiet through most of the arc. I think this is because there's no sexual shenanigans with those three, other than the occasional "OMG! Your boobs are SO huge!"
DiDi's whole "relationship" with Kiley is nauseating. I see enough people in real life who are trapped in codependant relationships to be amused by a cartoon one. Its pretty offensive and I really don't get offended that easily. I feel something similar every time Tracy shows up. She could be a more interesting character and a great potential love interest for Gary, if she wasn't such a user. Yes, Gary wants to be used (he really needs therapy) but that doesn't excuse her actions. For me, watching either couple is like watching emotional torture porn. Its not cute, its not funny and, if you read the two remaining pixie trix comics, its not necessary.

I'm actually not a wrestling fan at all, but I find the arc to be done so as to be interesting. I don't care much about high-fashion modelling either, but I enjoy watching Sandra do it. We'll disagree on how enjoyable fanservice is, I suppose. I've been liking it, and I'm actually quite curious where things will go with Brooke.Spidrift wrote:It reads like it's mostly being written in a foreign language to people who aren't wrestling fans, and the gratuitous EC references look like ham-fisted fanservice that isn't even sexy.Dr. Jamming wrote:I don't get the hate for the wrestling arc.
