Ah, that's the subplot that's bee keeping Zii occupied while Sonya and Yuki have been... busy. And presumably, Zii's sexual frustration problem remains quite active.
So, assuming a closed set final configuration, who ends up with Izz?

Oh god, I had been hoping the authors had forgotten about Izzy.

And WHAT will be kissed?

You never know, the recurring element might be Izz kissing something or someone; 150 strips might be enough for her to grow out of this virgin-teenage-tease thing and start treating other people as human beings rather than objects to use.

And here we are back with Zii and Izz with the future of Zii's band in the balance. And when the hell is the band going to have another gig since their first gig was such a huge success?

Hmm, so will Gary be kissing Zii's guitar?
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

The passage of time in this comic is sometimes a bit uneven; I'm not sure how long it's supposed to be since their first gig. But yes, they ought to have another at some point.samtheman wrote:And here we are back with Zii and Izz with the future of Zii's band in the balance. Of course, it's technically possible that they've had a few small-venue support gigs that the writers just haven't bothered showing us.
Is that what they call it these days?vampire hunter D wrote:Hmm, so will Gary be kissing Zii's guitar?

It could also end with someone covering their ears. Maybe someone will want to avoid hearing the truth about something.Raamyah wrote:And WHAT will be kissed?
It's really difficult to get a read on Izzy. She might actually be a naive fangirl.Spidrift wrote:You never know, the recurring element might be Izz kissing something or someone; 150 strips might be enough for her to grow out of this virgin-teenage-tease thing and start treating other people as human beings rather than objects to use.

Izzy has continuously shown hints of a fairly strong Lolita-vibe...
Hmmm, anyways, maybe the next bookend will be someone kissing a G-string? Waka waka. ;)
Or, I guess guitar can be known as a gitbox, so perhaps a box of a different sort...?

Izzy is a cute teenager (for a slightly sleazy value of "cute") who's just getting a handle on what that cuteness can do to other people, and reflexively exploiting it to get whatever she wants from them. She's naive, but no less manipulative for that. That's not a paradox; a month-old baby uses its own sort of cuteness to get what it wants, without having a clue how that works or why other people respond. Izz ought to know better, but she's clearly got a broad selfish streak.
(Actually, that makes her a bit like DiDi, who also habitually uses her physical appeal to get what she wants, without really thinking what that does to other people.)
The best hope with Izzy is that she'll meet someone she actually cares for as a person, rather than as a stage idol, and realise that life involves give as well as take. I'm just not sure who might help with that. Aaron?

I still don't understand Zii's being Izzy's buttmonkey all the time. I know she's sexually frustrated, but this is Zii, she's a selfish, sex prodigy, and shouldn't be manipulated by this young upstart! I guess it doesn't help that I, personally, don't find Izzy at all attractive in any fashion (personality or otherwise), so I'm biased.

Grats on Vol 9. Hopefully Vol 8's hard copy project won't be too terrible of a chore for you guys this year. Peggy floaty pen this year? Or a full-size Didi dakimakura?
It was too much to hope that Zii got rid of Izz, but I am sorta glad she's being strung along a little longer now. It will help reinforce (between volumes for sure) that she is still 'not getting any' and is frustrated. Whenever the plot calls for her to finally get her release, I'm sure it will be funnier. I still don't like Izz - probably never fully will - but there is a sort-of Garfield/Nermal angle between Zii and her which has a palette cleansing affect.
And +1 to the writing team for "lunkhead". I think Zii needs to use stronger language, but the word gave me a smirk.
