Don't worry, Pierre, she's been trained to deal with Senna's behavior.
Gary looks a bit taller than Pierre, which sort of surprises me.
The hearts in Senna's eyes seem misleading but I suppose all the visual symbols for raging lust are inappropriate for this comic.

Looks like I owe Fluffy an internet because she predicted in the SOTR thread that this would happen.

Speaking as someone who has two sisters, Senna and Sandra's relationship can be described as a bit sisterly at times. Which can range from casual "one-up-manship" to wanting to kill each other with knives.

More like 20 pages of pretentious debate on whether or not Pierre is into transwomen.'J' wrote:and cue the haters.

A lot sooner than I thought it would - I figured she'd meet him at Domenico's. XDzaprzapb wrote:Looks like I owe Fluffy an internet because she predicted in the SOTR thread that this would happen.
Oh well - hooray for calling it. XD Now let's see if she actively tries to steal Pierre away from Sandra (scratch that, any woman who shoves another woman out of the way when meeting a handsome man is making it clear what her intentions are. And folks were saying Gary was rude/ungrateful/thoughtless).
And here's hoping Gary is paying attention (poor guy needs to clue in that not only is Senna not looking for a serious relationship; but has a cruel/selfish side as well).
All the more, with Paris being the city of romance, I'm hoping something sparks between him and Sandra while he's there. I think they'd be good for each other,

To Senna: "Hey, you, get your damned hands of him" </McFly>
I'm definitely not a Senna hater, but she really should keep her hands to herself. There's also the fact that she knows Gary is a stallion, but this guy could be an absolute dud. I know he's not, but she doesn't.

Think it matters to Senna? She seems to be a very superficial sort - the type who goes for looks over personality, you know? And she is most definitely not the sort to be interested in serious relationships.
So, she sees a hot guy? He *must* be hers (the fact he may be with someone else has been shown to be of no concern to her).

Well, the most likely reaction to Senna focusing on Pierre is Sandra paying attention to Gary. That could get interesting.

Interesting to see Giz's version of Pierre here. I'm not sure if he isn't even slimmer and more boyish than in SotR, where he just about carried off the "slice of mancake" description. Not very different, though. It seems to me that he does come out positive ghostly, especially in those chef's whites, but that's largely carried over from SotR, and a blonde guy in white is always going to suffer from that a bit.
The shove, by the way, is basically a slapstick comedy gesture. Not nice, and highly indicative, but I wouldn't make too much of it specifically. It's unlikely to be commented on again. All these characters are likely to use physical gestures to indicate character and intent in ways that would rate as assault in reality. (Though the comic is only semi-slapstick; it's not as violent as the full version.)
Except that he's Gary. The man whose picture is in the dictionary next to "clueless". The most charitable things to say about him would be that (a) he's been desperate for years, and now he's got attractive women showing an interest in him, and his brain is taking a nice few months' rest while his gonads get on with running his life, (b) he's been almost a shut-in, and he has no idea at all about social cues, so he may even think that behaviour like Senna's is "just how some people act", and (c) he's in a soap-ish and semi-slapstick comedy, which means that everyone behaves in an exaggerated fashion, without other people ever noticing.
So he'll probably float through all this in a haze until something really flagrant happens, or he gets yelled at.
I can't even see them being that good for each other. Gary needs someone to explain to him how the world works, and then explain it again until he starts listening; Sandra, for all her charm, is a bit too much of a ditz. And Sandra needs someone to provide her with moral support while she's dealing with Tatiana's hostility and Zoe's drill-sergeant routine; Pierre's been doing a good job of that, whereas Gary wouldn't have a clue what to say to her. They're two nice enough kids, but they both need to receive help, not to have to give it.
The only thing I could see them talking about, funnily enough, is booze. Sandra seems to be getting over her habit of using it as a crutch; assuming that he works out what happened, Gary has just discovered that it enables him to relax, stop sweating the small stuff, and act on his desires. Precisely what Sandra mis-used it for, funnily enough, but something that Gary desperately needed. If the subject comes up, it could be an interesting conversation. But then again, Ma3 rarely does interesting conversations.
Active schmactive. Senna has just seen an attractive guy, therefore Senna has started flirting with him. (Compare and contrast Dillon, funnily enough.) If she twigs that Sandra has an interest there, that might be icing on the cake and extra incentive - but the world is full of women who need to be reminded that Senna is more gorgeous than them at any time, and men are the way she keeps score. Plus, they're fun in themselves, of course.Fluffy wrote:Now let's see if she actively tries to steal Pierre away from Sandra (scratch that, any woman who shoves another woman out of the way when meeting a handsome man is making it clear what her intentions are. Gary has been given very ample indications about Senna's nature since the moment he met her. She's not exactly subtle about it. If he hasn't worked out what he's dealing with here, his only excuse would be concussion from being beaten over the head with the clue stick.Fluffy wrote:And here's hoping Gary is paying attention (poor guy needs to clue in that not only is Senna not looking for a serious relationship; but has a cruel/selfish side as well).

Honestly, I don't see it happening. Sandra has her own title, while Gary is still really the primary figure in Ma3. Plus, Sandra has Pierre, who, if we're playing favourites, deserves much better than to be dropped summarily from the plot in favour of a clueless twerp like Gary.Fluffy wrote:All the more, with Paris being the city of romance, I'm hoping something sparks between him and Sandra while he's there. Actually, we have no idea at all about Pierre's sexual performance. He's played the perfect gentleman to Sandra so far. But anyway, from Senna's point of view, this is a hedged bet. She's not dropping Gary, she's just making sure that another cute guy has noticed her in case she needs or wants him later. For that matter, being not only Senna but also an Ma3 character, I imagine that she'd be quite happy to bag (and debag) Gary and Pierre 100% simultaneously.Raamyah wrote:There's also the fact that she knows Gary is a stallion, but this guy could be an absolute dud. Only if Sandra decides that her best or most enjoyable tactic is to out-bitch Senna. Which is not only ambitious, but not entirely her style. Not while she's sober. (Get her drunk, and things could get really interesting.)tappanZ wrote:Well, the most likely reaction to Senna focusing on Pierre is Sandra paying attention to Gary.
I do like Senna. Most enjoyable plot-kicking character we've seen in the comic for ages. But, y'know, she is an evil psycho bitch from hell. If she'd refrained from flirting with a gorgeous slice of man-cake, I'd have been deeply disappointed in her.crimzontearz wrote:I really want to like Senna but FFS......

Yep. We should all have seen it coming (and like I said, I'd have been disappointed if Senna had been able to keep her claws off Pierre), but that's the first call.

Senna with the Heisman. Watch out, Johnny Football!
