No no, that's what we say when we talk about what Bush has done with our country.

The sentiment is not so far removed; like Bear I'm from the UK and we spent most of the last ten 10 (especially 2000-2007) being lap-dog to Bush. So you can only imagine the feelings generated there, so to hear that line about getting up the rear end it could easily be Bush giving the UK a shafting.

Same in Australia. Bush's regime has cornholed us regularly.

At least when Obama takes over if he tries doing the same we can blame red-neck America for when we assasinate him...

I'm not really a fan of Obama. He had that big informercial the other day, cost his campaign fund something like $150,000/minute. In it he spoke to some guy getting shafted on his retirement fund. Rather than blow all that money advertising himself, imagine if Obama simply gave ONE MINUTE of that funding to that guy. It'd change that guy's life, and cost Obama one minute of air time. But no. Stuff like that doesn't happen.

Plus he's related to Bush, Cheney, and other people I dislike, which gets me thinking he's just one more arsehole who happens to have great publicity.

I'm not really a fan of Obama. He had that big informercial the other day, cost his campaign fund something like $150,000/minute. In it he spoke to some guy getting shafted on his retirement fund. Rather than blow all that money advertising himself, imagine if Obama simply gave ONE MINUTE of that funding to that guy. It'd change that guy's life, and cost Obama one minute of air time. But no. Stuff like that doesn't happen.

Plus he's related to Bush, Cheney, and other people I dislike, which gets me thinking he's just one more arsehole who happens to have great publicity.

To be fair, it’s very likely that he’s not allowed by election laws to spend political contributions that way. He’s being accused of a great many crimes that are non-crimes or didn’t happen, it would be stupid of him to blow the election by actually breaking election laws.

If we go back that far, EVERYone is probably 12th cousins to someone detestable. I doubt that Obama was invited to any Bush or Cheney family reunions, and he certainly wasn’t raised by Barbara Bush; given what I know of her and how all of her sons turned out, it explains a great deal. She’s a real piece of work and so are they.

Mind you, I don’t think Obama’s perfect—he’s a politician, after all. But I do think he’s actually competent, something I haven’t seen in a Republican administration since Nixon’s, and relatively free of corruption, something I haven’t seen in a Republican administration since Eisenhower’s. All too often we get stuck voting for the lesser of two evils, it’s nice to actually not have to do that for a change.

Finally, while I don’t think he’s going to invite the FBI on January 21, 2009 to arrest Bush and Cheney and frog-march them off to The Hague as they so richly deserve, I also think that he will quietly see that every last thing they did—every backroom deal for their cronies, every war crime, every little corruption of democracy—is exposed to the light of day just to make sure that the next set of clowns that think to do it will know how they’re going to be remembered. A President has certain checks on him, but he could, on January 21, say, “OK, every excutive order since January 21, 2001? Gone. Every executive threat to quiet the whistleblowers in the last eight years? Gone. Ooo, and looky here, certain people can no longer claim ‘executive privilege’, so I guess these documents can be released as they should have been years ago…” To be sure, Bush and Cheney are running the shredders and such 24/7, but there’s gonna be some guy in the chain that makes copies to cover his ass…

And, who knows? Maybe those two will spend the rest of their lives in and out of court fighting criminal charges and lawsuits. It’d probably be kinder to shoot them.

The first time they go out of the country after they're out of office and without the SS with them, they need to be apprehended and put on trial for war crimes/crimes against humanity. If they aren't, I will blame every country they visit for their continued existence. I'm already ashamed of America, especially since a pretzel did way more than anyone else did to try to make this country better.

Retiarius, you have earn monumental amount of respect from me for this post. Most engaging and close errily to the truth, however, curious how all of this would play out, if at all. How does this effect America state of mind? Would there be any form of repercussions? I mean, even now it is literally unfathomable how effective psychologically this would be for the entire world to watch, view at home this going down; Bush, Cheney, Rumsfelt -list goes on- walks I'm dedicating myself to being a political anarchist for life! :geek:

@Scar: Hm, same was said about former General Colin Powell, first possible only Jamaican-American to hold a seat being related to Bush. Is there not a single politician who isn't related five-hundred times over, very disappointing that is the only way he or she could ever become a president.
