Okay, some people seriously need to chill. You want something official?
Fine, here it is, straight from the proverbial horse's mouth:

[quote] In Japan, Nymphet is a highly popular and successful manga written and drawn by a female creator for an older teen male audience. It is published in Futubasha’s weekly seinen magazine COMIC HIGH. It is not considered pornographic by any means, and Japanese would be shocked to hear this sort of accusation about what they consider to be a mainstream property. In fact, it is so mainstream that it has been turned into an anime program which will be broadcast on Japanese TV starting this July. My personal stance on this title is, if it’s good enough for the Japanese, then it’s good enough for us.

[snip]

As a policy, we at Seven Seas do not believe in altering or “censoringâ€

The book isn't being sold. The printed copies are being pulled, the listings are gone, the site and its forums have been wiped clean as though Kodomo no Jikan never got licensed.

If that isn't a title cancellation, then I don't know what is. If we can get it at a later date, great, but right now, well, I think we'll see vol. 2 of Blade for Barter and Earthsong before we see Nymphet.

ETA: Oh yea, and the press releases announcing the cancellation. That tends to be a pretty good indicator that it's been cancelled.

From my previous post:
Instead, despite the fact that we have already received thousands of orders on this title, I have decided to delay its release and to have an open dialogue with the large book chains and other vendors. My intention is to make them fully aware of this debate, familiarize them more fully with the content, and let each of them make the final decision as to whether or not it is appropriate for their stores and their customers — and then give them the chance to cancel their orders if they wish.
Am I the only one who actually READ the part where it specifically states that this book is delayed and not cancelled?

You are aware that press release is old, right? Because even Newsarama is now reporting the title is cancelled.

Read to the very end of the article.

Some damage control is in order, but given the poor quality of their damage control so far, I'm not sure what could honestly work anymore.

Yes, it would. However, they just had to cancel a release last-minute. That must be terribly frustrating for all the people who worked hard to bring the book into stores, no matter how good the reasons were. Let's give them some time to recover, and wait for the official word, shall we?

Much less do we know what actually led to whatever decision they made. I seriously doubt that some people on a forum, even if it's ANN, do have that much of an impact.
I very much want to have some faith, but I'm tapped out at the moment. :( ICv2 is reporting that it's been axed. That's fairly reliable proof when combined with the cleansing of this site of all official traces.

I'd be quite happy if it turned out that they were simply letting the idiocy die down but at this point that just doesn't seem likely.

I would just like to add that my anger at Seven Seas is because this isn't even the first time they've pulled titles on me. I'm rather tired of supporting titles that aren't getting any support from their publisher, and this managed to top it.
