Titles I'd like to see license-rescued:

-Kage Kara Mamoru!! (a.k.a. Mamoru The Shadow Protector)

-Ninin Ga Shinobuden (a.k.a. Ninja Nonsense)

-Lunar Legend Tsukihime

-ARIA

All 4 are really hard to sell, which is why they haven't been rescued.

Wow, there's really no hope if even mainstream Type-Moon stuff doesn't sell. Time to learn Japanese.

Why not try using Kickstarter to fund publishing them?
If nothing else, it'll at least gauge interest as to which titles are worth rescuing.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

One of the biggest reasons DMP has been successful with Kickstarter for those Tezuka books is because... well, they're Tezuka books. They're academic and the appeal is from a literary perspective. Of course they're going to get funded. The people who want them are older readers and have the money to pledge. The same is not necessarily true for other series.

We're not actively looking to license rescue any other series right now.

May I make a few more licensing suggestions, or is this thread essentially one giant "NO-Zone"?

Sure, we look at everything that comes through this thread.

If it's something that Seven Seas can't license or that won't ever sell in today's market, I'll often just come right out and tell you.

Sadly, there isn't a big enough audience for Leiji Matsumoto's series. The anime have always done pretty badly here overall.

Then what about Ibitsu by okada kazuto. His previous manga sundome was licensed in the US by Yen Press.
Also
The journey of Shuna
Mouryou no yurikago
Corpse Princess(Shikabane Hime)

Are any of these possible.

Bookstores likely wouldn't stock it.

The journey of Shuna

My thought has always been... why hasn't Viz licensed it in all this time (they keep rereleasing Nausicaa, after all)? Makes me wonder if it's a rights issue or Ghibli just not wanting it released overseas. Who knows.

Mouryou no yurikago
Corpse Princess(Shikabane Hime)

Both are from Square Enix, which is more or less exclusive to Yen Press at this point.

We don't have a relationship with Kadokawa Shoten.
