A double page layout, I'm thinking I went too much with the tones. It's suppose to be a train accident due to massive land slide off a cliff.

I'm inclined to agree that the tones are a bit overdone...
...says the guy who overdoes his own tones.

I really try my best not to over do it with tones, although when I didn't tone the water, it looks weirdish, and when I didn't tone the ground it looked funny as well. But I do like the tone on top, makes it look eerie. Here is it untoned.

Thinking it's just the 'over' tones that need to be... ...toned down.
I might need to shoot myself for that.
I could be wrong, of course.

I tried removing the tone over the dirt. It looks weird without the overtone, but with it, it doesnt look so bad.

My hand hurts like hell after drawing those trees (took over 2 hours) and the second panel I traced, but I still like how it came out.
The key to drawing a lot of trees or people packed together is a big blur of greyish with the last row representing shapes of heads/treetops
Only detail you will have to draw is the front row, those have to actually look like people/trees, and a few lost ones in the crowd so they stick out.
The rest are nothing more then silhouettes.

I suppose thats one way. I do know that when I look out over the vast number of trees in the area from the hill, I can see the detail about the same. I can understand super close up having more detail. Oh well.

I can't draw shit myself, but that's what my book on "learning how to draw a comic" says
