nope, nothing like that. its a small stylistic complaint really, theres no overt fanservice and they dont fling about, escher girl just has me complaining over small things, like cloth clothing that fits all around the breast.

only certain female characters seem to be styled this way. as the main char and her older sister dont have it happening to them despite clothing changes too. (but then again they arent as..endowed.)

Metioned this in the main GD sub-forum, but Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Like the above it's a 2013 release so there are only 10 eps leaked at the moment.

I am currently theoretically watching Black Rock Shooter, Durarararararararararararararararara, Another, and Kashimashi. >_>

I enjoyed Spice & Wolf, too. :D

Read Kashmashi, but haven't seen the anime. Does it follow closely?

Nope.

The first few episodes are similar, but starting about where they introduce Yasuna's issue it goes off into a different direction. I like the manga better. (Though I watched the anime first...this is a rewatch.)

are there any examples of when an anime went into its own direction and was better than the manga?

no that doesnt count in the context i mean. There are plenty of anime which are good by themselves even when they didnt follow the manga.

for FMA it eventually caught up with the manga no what it did and decided to go its own way past the manga releases, you cant be better than something which doenst exist.

Plus FMA:Brotherhood, which was based on the manga, was quite more epic than FMA, good as it was.

I mean an anime based off a manga that ended up even better than it when it went off the rails.

I've recently purchased the first two boxsets (and the movie) of You're Under Arrest!, after reading several reviews, including one which summarized it as 'Patlabor' meets the 'Dirty Pair'. But it was the trailer for the movie that finally convinced me to give the series a shot.

It gets off to a slow start, but I'm at the point where it's begun to pick up, and I've gotta say that, while it isn't the same as Patlabor, YUA! has definitely grown on me.
