Life in a world that doesn't care about manga or anime

Post by Ninja Cat »

My manga collection is over 100. :dizzy2:
But the main problem is about nobody
likes Japanese things where I live. :anger2:
Except for the occasional boy or girl.
I'm about to give you some examples:
*There is a table of manga on sale
About all the kids that see them say
"Why are those books backwards?"
One boy is all like:"This is the book...
and this is the one..." :R
And my friend just got into the series being sold.
They had six volumes.
Then she says"I can't believe it!I don't have
the money to buy all six volumes it would cost $42!" :saaad:
*Kids are into the monster battling animes.
Pokemon,Bakugan,etc.
I'm going to make up a fake monster anime
and video game series for this example.
We shall call it MagiMon.
About everyone that's a boys is into MagiMon.
Some girls are into it too.
About everyday in school talks about MagiMon.
Talk about the video games,TV show and so on...
Some kid really enjoys the series.
She loooves it so much and so does her friend.
They talk about the MagiMon video games they have. :happyhappy:
Then one day the friend just says:
"I hate that stuff.I hate everything Japanese.
Nobody cares about Japanese things."
So then you're acting all :bleed2: .
Because you're still into that stuff.
There you have it!
Talk about what I just wrote if you want too.

Sounds like high school. I mean, nerds are called nerds for a reason.

I kind of got lost with what you were saying..but sounds like middle-school or high school to me. Maybe you just don't know the right people.

I say this friend should go to hell, just my opinion.

And perhaps you should start looking for new friends. I've had friends like that and I got rid of them because they don't like the Japanese.

I do understand where you are coming from, within some ways it is almost a hobby to be parade and yet hidden at times from people that do not understand and are overly critical of it...

What part of the world or country do you live that is so cold toward manga and anime?
It gives one a great sense of satisfaction to do it in perfect unison. Michelle Cheung

But there are tons of nerdy Asians in Southern Calif-

Oh. I see what you did there.

Where I live

Post by Ninja Cat »

I just live in a small state that I sometimes call Valley of Dragonflies.
I call it this because in Summer it's like there are dragonflies
in all the colors of the rainbow. :happyhappy:
I've got all three volumes of Hollow Fields.
I got the first one at the school bookfair.
Let's just say about everyone at this school HATES Naruto. :anger2:
While waiting for a class to start I'm reading the book.
Two boys in that class used to live in Japan.
One of them,a blonde comes up and says:
"Is that Naruto you're reading. If it is I'll have to kill you."
More on the Hollow Fields side:
Me and that "friend" I talked about in the first post share
a Lucy Summer Relationship.

Like everyone else said you should just find some more people who are in to that stuff. I find it hard to believe that you can't find anyone as of yet however. Try talking to Dawn.. *whispers*: I hear he loves Naruto!
