When re-watching part of Sgt. Frog I am finding the humor is leading it to a favorite.

Still loving Spice and Wolf, especially the choices for the characters.

The sub was good but particularly the dub, in my humble opinion, captured Holo perfectly choosing a voice that gives off (perhaps though this is just me) just the right amount of formality (using 'let us' and 'you are' instead of 'let's' and 'you're') mixed with the ideal level of coy playful smugness mixed with just a fully understandable underlying sadness which was there when needed and at when needed was overpowered by a tenderness which also was within the voice at all times.

I am not sure my description is doing the voice justice so I shall simply sum by saying it is my belief Funimation for the dub nailed Holo's voice perfectly (basically they somehow got the very voice I heard when reading the book before seeing the anime) and came very, very close on Lawerence's voice too, leaving me hoping for a season 2 and the ability for the same people to reprise their roles.

Anyway this is one of the reasons along with a great story and excellent animation, that Spice and Wolf has skyrocketed a tie (if not standing alone) as my favorite anime.

Hm, my current favorite series I've watched is Shuffle!. I don't get around to watching much anime outside of feature films, so this is a bit of a rarity for me.

Unless you read the manga before/after, then you wonder what the hell happened

I saw the anime and then read the 14 volume manga.

WHat the hell happened indeed. Must have been money trouble or lack of cooperation by the various production elements. I noticed certain moments in the anime where rushing was done (nothing no one but us sad nerd veterans tend to notice). Kudos to maintaining the look and quality of the animation though. Which is what threw me off Naruto and why I have only followed the manga since Naruto and the three sennin fought each other withtheir giant summons (YAH)

anyway.

squid girl is my most beloved anime at this point. Wonder if the next season is coming soon.
