I finally let myself get sucked into RWBY, and now I might be just a little obsessed. I've binge watched the whole series twice in a week. Plus a few extra viewings of the Yellow trailer, because Yang's awesome.

The World of Remnant extras made me realize something that I don't think I've seen mentioned anywhere. Through the series, no Hunter shows any extreme emotion when fighting Grimm. Fighting is never personal. There's always a sense of detachment, and sometimes they're almost clinical about it. "Just an extermination" like Oobleck said. The only exception I saw was team CRDL in Forever Fall, which aren't the greatest example of Huntsmen we've seen.

It make's sense when you know Grimm are attracted to negative emotions. It also speaks to very high levels of training that even first year students, on their first day at the academy, can fight with that level of focus. On a meta level, it shows the quality of writing in the series. It's there, you can see what's going on, but they never draw attention to it. Makes me wonder if we might see a story line in the future of a Hunter losing it on the battlefield and calling in too many Grimm for their team to handle.
