Very cool. Blasting things with Twilight's horn-laser reminded me a bit of the season finale.

Apparently some of the EQD people are at Comic-Con, and they bring us news from season 3 and a preview vid of a Twi/Spike duet.

Trixie fans should be especially pleased with this quote:

PBS's YouTube "Idea Channel" asks if bronies are changing the definition of masculinity. Frankly, I think this is the very thing that freaks out a lot of the haters.

Hm. I noticed the annotation at the beginning tells bronies to just laugh and not be a bunch of pussies (I'm paraphrasing), so I don't think I'll watch that. If somebody has to tell you "it's just a joke!" it's not really a joke.
Now, who is that grinning at Colgate? He kind of looks like the pediatrician from "Secret of my Excess."

You sound like Khelgar now. (Skip to 1:30 unless you want to watch the whole scene) ;))

I was actually thinking of the "Just Joking" Justification.
When humour is used to excuse behaviour that others find offensive and inappropriate, you have just encountered a "Just Joking" Justification.
Also, being called an "idiot" for being too "sensitive" isn't exactly encouraging.

Anyhow, here's one of a series (?) of videos that are genuinely funny: My Little Spaghetti

In my opinion, the video's problem is that except for a gag at the very end it doesn't doesn't have enough absurdity or over-the-topness to make misery and gore funny. It doesn't cross the line twice until its closing moment, and by then it's gone on for too long for it to seem like an adequate payoff.
