Only watched a bit of it (been hitting play while my trooper waits on cooldowns during his epic battles)... but using Altered Beasts with Spike was great....

Based on some of the previous-gen pony screen caps I've seen, I'm thinking it's probably based on the cutie mark of a past Sctootaloo. I don't think it fits gen 4's aspiring daredevil very well, though.

Thanks for the heads-up. That'll be my reward to myself for working through the weekend. :ymsigh:

Just finished watching the new PMV. Some cool stuff, but the last big sequence doing 2001: A Space Odyssey was epic!

Oh, and just found that GlancoJusticar has done the Pinkie Pie wardrobe. This time with active commentary by Pinkie.

In the news today...BronyCon brought in 40 times as many people as showed up last year.

That's right- four THOUSAND Bronies showed up for BronyCon this year.

Anthology 2 was pretty awesome.

Favorite parts:

  • Twilight as Monk.
  • Spike as Shaft.
  • Fluttershy: "ponies eat rainbows and poop butterflies. SQEEEE"
  • Keyboard Cat Opalesence.
  • Dash as the Adventure Sphere.
  • Pinkie as the Space Core ("WE KNOW!")
  • Opera Duck! :D
  • Dash: "I guess I did start to brag a little." (wow)
  • Wedge Antilles vs. Pinkie Pie the Imperial walker.
  • The text labels in the background diagrams of the Archer mashup.
  • The ingredients of do-it-yourself Doritos, although the Twi-in-a-jar thing was kind of disturbing.
  • Chancellor Puddinghead + Hoban Washburne = :))
  • Crankie Pie Core vs. Appliejack Core.
  • Fluttery Tate: Ponyville Linebacker
  • Fluttershy suplexes everything.
  • Mac's only doin' it for some doll.
  • Pinkamina making random noises -- what is this from? I know I've seen/heard this somewhere before.
  • The Fluttershy PMV about 1 hour in.
  • "2012: A Pony Odyssey" -- the wow has been doubled.
Least favorite:

Excessive use of dubstep. Which, for me, means almost any dubstep. %-(

[oldmanvoice]The music today's just a buncha 'lectronic noise gol-durnit.[/oldmanvoice]
Most WTF:

  • Blugrass Green Day cover? :-\
  • That creepy-ass portrait of Celestia with giant eyelashes and some kind of deviant grin. :-s
  • The whole thing that starts with Pinkie as "Johnny" buying a dozen red roses. What is this a reference to? ETA: Turns out the audio is from this scene of this famously bad movie.
  • Everything involving that horribly-animated GMod Celestia. Horse legs don't bend that way! :-o
  • "2012: A Pony Odyssey" -- it makes no more sense than the movie, which is undoubtedly intentional.

Derp we can believe in.

A muffin on every plate and a letter in every mailbox.

It's morning again in Equestria.

Leave no muffin behind.

...and I'm out of ponified presidential campaign slogans. Anyone else got some?

The derp is out there.

Hm. I'll have to watch that anthology soon; those spoiler boxes are taunting me.

Lots of unusually neutral-to-positive news coverage (what I've seen so far at least) from BronyCon. Here's an Associated Press video (featuring a NASA employee in Twi cosplay), and G4TV's interview with one of the guys who ran the con.

I'm not really clear on what kind of merch is being shown in these photos, but I am kind of amazed at how much fanon is damn near canonized. As close as they could probably get without some kind of Dr. Who licensing deal, anyway. Apparently the BBC neglected to trademark "timey-wimey." :D
