Hmm. Jennifer isn't quite as hardened as she will become later. The rational thing to do would have been to let Dan get her out of the complex and then turn him over to the authorities, not slug him there and then; that's an emotional response. I'd be happier to see it if it weren't one of the things that turn her into Control down the line.

I am surprised that it took this long for Jennifer to realize that Dan is a tool. He has been completely ignoring what Jennifer has said she wants from practically the moment they met.

In her mild defense, he might have been the first person who is close to being a peer who was willing to push past her defenses. Fortunately, the next to do this doesn't seem to have any darker motivations...
