Does anyone else think Jennifer might be becoming an adrenaline junkie? The thought that she might have her head blown off might have given her an unintended buzz, which may be why she's still keen on doing her job.

Or maybe it's just the fear of falling back into a dull life.

I think it's her overly developed sense of "if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right" that was noted about her early on. She's on a mission, and by golly, she's gonna finish it.

No; I think he was there to assassinate Old Man Von Brucken. He may have secretly defected to another agency, he may be taking orders from someone else in the Agency than Control, or he may have gone independent to gather funds for his and Jennifer's future together.
