Re: Two Truths and a Lie
You are wrong sir!
I am a fan of WWII movies and Empire is by far one of my all time favorites. It has a beautiful soundtrack, great acting and a heartbreaking performance by a young Christian Bale.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie
I do. >_>
Though it is far from my favorite.
Hm, I didn't really like empire Of The Sun. Great acting, but too much drama and heartbreak.
I hope #1 is true, because Bone is awesomeawesomeawesome!!!!
So I'll go with Az, and say #2 is the lie.

Oh, and on topic, I'm jumping on the band-wagon and saying #2 as well.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie
Since Teach is South American, not North, I'm going to guess #2 is true - Root Beer, at least, is apparently very American.
#3, I think, is the lie.

I swear I will, I'll make you smile.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie
If it's okay, I'd like to try another set.
1. The show that got me started on anime was Robotech.
2. One of my favorite soft drinks is Vernors.
3. While I am a fan of the reimagined version of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, I didn't really get into it until the fourth -- and LAST -- season.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie
#3 is the lie. The last season of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica was terrible and only dogged persistance from liking the previous seasons would have carried you through that.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie
Okay, here's where I get long-winded.
#1: Congrats, posseforlife. That IS the lie. The only time I ever got to see Robotech (the Macek mash-up) was a marathon that a local TV station had going one weekend; AFAIK, they never had it on their regular schedule (at least, not that I could find). So I never followed Robotech; same with the original series (closest I actually have would be Macross Plus). The anime show I credit as getting me started on anime is even older: Star Blazers. Even though I KNOW I watched Japanese animated shows before then, Star Blazers was the first one to not only really get me hooked (THERE ARE xxx DAYS LEFT.), but also the first animated show that made me aware of Japanese animation. It also helped that the first two seasons actually got REPLAY (on the same local TV station that did that Robotech marathon, no less).
#2: Sorry, Miss Vavava-Vavavavoom. But I've been drinking Vernors (on-and-off again, due to availability) ever since I was a kid, when it was still just available in Michigan (place-of-origin for this ginger soda). Thankfully, it can now be found throughout the US (although it can still be tricky to find).
#3: Sorry, Gil Hamilton, but it's the truth -- although not necessarily for the reason you stated. I grew up watching the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, first when it aired on ABC, and then in syndicated reruns (again, that same local TV station!!). When I first heard that a new mini-series, which did not involve any of the original cast or crew, and would have MAJOR CHANGES to the original version, I was skeptical. I watched the mini-series, and I'll admit I was impressed, but I did not think it would go anywhere (too different from the original). And when news came that a series was being worked on, I just shrugged it off. HUGE FRAKKING MISTAKE. Sadly, it took my ignoring THREE ENTIRE SEASONS before I FINALLY started to revise my stance (THANK GOODNESS for DVD SETS!!).
