Okay, I do not know this type of monster. Not deeply into far eastern mythology.

Wow...most of the teachers I dealt with had eyes in the backs of their heads.

Oh, come on - you were all thinking it!

Conveniently "Futakuchi-onna" is the name of the monster in question. It's like if Layla and Nina's last name was "Vampire". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futakuchi-onna

Eeeee! *squees and hugs the futakuchionna*

If only she were a kushisakeonna instead, my joy would be complete.
I swear I will, I'll make you smile.

Original fiction by Neko: Heroes of Angel City (now in convenient (and edited) ebook form!). Kuchisake.

I honestly thought the lack of colors was deliberate. In addition to the Futakuchi monster, she could easily be a take on Japanese horror movies like the Grudge and the Ring, films that have few other colors than black and white.

I believe the Eastern equivalent would be Voldemort in the first Harry Potter story/movie...........

Definately freaky... I must say this to our lovely writer, she does dig deep into various mythos....

Interesting choice of monster to include... I'd never even heard of Futakuchi-onna until this strip. Kudos on expanding my mythology base Giz :-bd

Gredinus, thanks for reminding us of one of the two most evil cartoon characters ever to grace ink... that poor coyote... (As for the other, also a bird, but shorter and yellower (or pinker in the early days)) ;)
