There are SO MANY jokes to be made about those first two panels.
On the other hand, the Melusine girls are disturbingly cute, considering their ophidian nature.

Err ... wait ... didn't I speculate that awhile ago? Like ... last decade?
I feel sooo old. It's 2011, and it's been sooooo long since the previous strip.
Now then, as for that little birthday party ... oooh ... CREEPY!!! Their eyes are ... ewwwww ...

At first I though she was yelling at her mom. (Kinda wish she was anyway)
Brooke had a pet mouse, that last panel.....it's so cute it's just painful.

Sure you can. I had a friend who grew up on a farm. They named the animals, and for clarity of identification when they butchered and stored them they'd write the name of the source animal on the wrapping paper.Milnoc wrote:Understandable. You can't eat something that you've named.

I can't place the reasons why... but that birthday party scene is creepy on a whole other level. Little snake girls with blacked out eyes, and rat tails switching out from their mouths not withstanding. That is to say, as "wha?" as that image is, it isn't that image, I think, that makes that scene creepy. I just can't figure out why it is so creepy.
And once again, Nina proves to be a cutie pie. Even Brooke manages a little cutesy too. Still nothing for Chloe... Eh, Layla I guess pulls off a momentary adorable in the forth panel. Ace stills seems to eat like a guy at least, so obviously the boy isn't all girl yet. Unless someone wants to argue that girls eat like that too (Ace is just the other side of Layla in the fourth panel)
All of a sudden, I feel an unbidden shudder tingle my spine when I think of just how Nina will turn out (in appearances) as she gets older. Valley Girl Nina interpretation not withstanding.
