Ace looks like it's 1986 and she's on her way to an Ozzy Osbourne concert.
I don't know why, she just does...

Kid Kool (1988) for the Nintendo Entertainment System is GROSSLY underrated. Sure the concept could've been presented a little better, but it doesn't deserve the hate it gets in some circles.

Is Ace fully aware of the the life "choices" he'll have to accept now that he's a woman?WCRI wrote:Though its still funny, its also somewhat creepy to see Ace getting excited with how smexy he's looking right now (being a girl and all that) Almost like the boy within is liking the girl he's seeing in the mirror or something.
And has he had his first period yet?
It'll be like the opening scene in the movie "Carrie"!

Re: 08-12-10 Oooooh, boy.
Let's look at some facts here:
Previously to being a girl, Ace was a) The butt of numerous jokes and not really noticed by anyone but the creepy, genki vampire girl, who obsessed over him in a really creepy way, and b) Very insecure, about himself, and his body. From the hands to the way he walked around all slumpylike, his facial expressions. Everything about Ace was just... well... pitiful, except that there's no pity in Highschool, so he didn't even get that.
Now that he's is now she, she's been getting positive attention from one of the most attractive guys in school (Though this is creepy to her, I'm sure the implications of it will dawn on her eventually.) She's also apearently making friends with a fair number of girls quite easily, and even Nina has shifted her attention to something less creepy. As the final nail in the coffin, those other girls have been helping her to fix her insecurity, and in almost every instance, she seems more confident than GUY!Ace. I think that, if the choice is given to her, she'll stay a she. Life's being good to her now, why would she want to go back to being that pitiful average joe?

Perhaps, but perhaps if Layla realizes that she's about to have serious competition to "rule the school" she'll actively conspire to change Ace back despite what Ace decides.if the choice is given to her, she'll stay a she.

It just occurred to me that Ace probably didn't tell the parents about a slumber party. It could be awkward if they show up looking for their son, and are given a made over girl to take home with them.

Re: 08-12-10 Oooooh, boy.
They could definitely have given her a better dress. The hair style suites her quite nicely, though. I do wonder if this episode will fuck with Ace even more. I can't help but think this will cause Ace to slide ever so slightly closer to a female mindset. Since she is physically all girl, her female hormones must be causing some confusing sensations for her. I think the longer it takes for Ace to return to boyhood, the harder it will be on her if she does transform back.yiraheerai wrote:Agreed. That she likes the look makes me wonder if on some emotional level, Ace currently likes her situation.
While I dislike Layla, the snarky comment she made in the last panel was solid gold.
I find this highly unlikely (not that Layla would do so, but that Ace would be competition). Say what you will about Layla good or bad, but I think we can all agree that she is certified alpha female. Ace is most definitely not an alpha (male, or female). Ace would at best be lieutenant of an alpha type. In all likelihood, Ace can never compete with Layla. She has an aura that simply lacks. No, Layla's real competition is Melissa Hellrune.zoom wrote:Perhaps, but perhaps if Layla realizes that she's about to have serious competition to "rule the school" she'll actively conspire to change Ace back despite what Ace decides.if the choice is given to her, she'll stay a she.
It would be a very dickish thing to change Ace back into a boy if she found happiness as a girl. If that were to happen, I think my distaste with that plot development would likely lead to my not continuing to read this web comic.*
*Ace being changed back into a boy and being happy about it I have no issues with.

Maybe after finding some confidence as a girl, Ace could keep it, even after changed back into a boy. On the long run, I don't want him to remain a female. He's (was) pretty much the only likable guy in the comic.
Do you think they will give Brooke a makeover too?

I think Brooke will cooperate in her makeover. I took a second look at her expression in the last panel. ;-)

Re: 08-12-10 Oooooh, boy.
Oh yeah, this'll make him want him to go back to being a boy, won't it? Seriously, like someone posted here, Ace WAS the most likable guy in EC. I'd hate to see him (?) become yet another "likable" girl character. We have enough of those here. In fact, ARE there any likable guys in EC that aren't associated with being girl-crazy perverts in some way?
I think I can see where this is going, which I'm sure someone has already posted: Layla's going to use Ace to get back at Kade, probably at the dance. In the meantime, can we get a reaction from Ace's daddy on his son's transformation to his daughter, or can we assume he's readily accepted this already?

Re: 08-12-10 Oooooh, boy.
What would it do to Kade if Layla took Ace (as is) to the dance?
That's NOT to try to ship them. I doubt either would be interested in that, but they both have their reasons to want to mess with Kade's head and might make a show of it for that purpose. Ace would only suggest this as a joke not thinking it could possibly actually happen, but if Layla got the idea, either from Ace or on her own, she might make it so. She'd have to cajole Ace in to service though. It wouldn't work if Ace is feeling forced in to it.

I think we are seeing GrAce gender orb changed mindset (see previous thread with nina refenrces) clashing with his Boy mind seeing a Hot girl in the mirror.

Why do people spend thousands of dollars, often out of pocket, for treatments that will make them a walking punchline to the societal mainstream and a frequent target of violence? Unquote. SAGG- Girl-crazy perverts in EC?! Who? Where?! ;-) Actually, SAGG, I think you do have a point there. I don't mind the fact that it's clearly a female character dominated webcomic, but the guys, even the nice ones, do seem kinda weird. (Except Seth the Snake of course. ;-)

Is it the "wrong" gender? I have to point to Nina's abrupt mindset change when she was changed by the orb. It's possible - likely, even - that the orb had the same mental effect on Ace and made her female to the core. She's just been trying to get changed back, because it just seems like she should be, and she's been desperately afraid of getting mocked by all the guys - as if this indicates that Ace was always girly, even as a guy. GuyAce was always the butt-monkey; fear of what others would think would be a primary motivation for Ace.Why do people spend thousands of dollars, often out of pocket, for treatments that will make them a walking punchline to the societal mainstream and a frequent target of violence?
