On the one hand, I have always been a little uncomfortable with the whole plotline; on the other hand, what ever makes someone decide to have sex, or not to?

Tandy and Gaby weren't even that close to Teddi but were still effected. They thought it was down to the pheromones and as a pair of trained monster hunters you might think they'd know.
