I'm not exactly sure about that last panel insert. Depending on how you perceive it it's either burning off as in the contract got fulfilled, or on as in its manifesting as a reminder he has a contract with Chloe, who right at the beginning when she showed him the pact seals they shared, confirmed she was his girlfriend. All the getting Chloe to punch her V card was about is to save her life, without decarlo losing his by doing the deed himself. I'm not sure either way though.

Yes, but in this strip http://www.dangerouslychloe.com/strips- ... y_dog_eyes which occurs shortly after that one Chloe tells Teddy that there is a loophole if he gets one on his own. Since Naomi seems to have genuine affection for Teddy that she actually wants to go out on a date with him and possibly stick around beyond that the seal is fading away.

This resolves a plot point that started from the very beginning, but there are still many others to resolve.

Well hopefully this means Teddy and Chloe can be together since he won't automatically forfeit his soul when he has sex with her.
His current form may also be able to keep up with her.

But she’s not his girlfriend. He just said he wanted to go on a date with her, whereas he and Alchemy are arguably in a vague sort of relationship. Didn’t she call him her girlfriend at one point?

the sentence was cut off. but it does show Naoimi was starting to develop interest in him/her already.

But she’s not his girlfriend. He just said he wanted to go on a date with her, whereas he and Alchemy are arguably in a vague sort of relationship. Didn’t she call him her girlfriend at one point?

They never went on or talked about going on a date?

Also, he said girlfriend. Teddy was going at it with male Al.

Yeah, I wasn't doubting that makes more logical sense because for one the series is meant to be wrapping up soon, but I was just pointing out that the way the last panel was drawn wasn't unambiguous. Chloe's problems centering around her staying a virgin aren't directly connected with the curse, just its borne out by her own choice to stay so because of her feelings for Teddy, but there's still an 'escape trapdoor' that we now have 2 decarlo's so if all the gender and sexuality hijinks in the comic thus far are any indication I bet there's some solution pending that probably involves Teddi, who's pact with Chloe may yet be revealed to be intact.

And I agree with you. It takes more than having things in common and asking for a date to make Naomi a true girlfriend; but, apparently, it's enough to make her one in this comic (given the seal is disappearing from Teddy's hand; implying he got himself a true girlfriend).

It's stupid, it's rushed, it makes no sense - but what can be done about it?

As for Teddy/Al - their relationship probably doesn't count because Al/Kimmy is non-binary/genderefluid - so can't be labeled as a girlfriend/boyfriend.

You know - just more BS reasons why Al/Kimmy doesn't count as a viable lover to break the contract.

Part of this may be down to demons' skewed interpretations of human interaction.
To them, sex is bait and a weapon, not a sign of affection, so Alchemy is out no matter how they feel.
Naomi is willing to go on a date. Apparently that counts as a human relationship to the demons.

Maybe the girlfriend has to be human, which would be why Al was never able to break the contact (because there is no doubt that they considered themselves in a relationship). However, given the past of this comic, I’m willing to bet that the contract could only be broke when MALE Teddy got a FEMALE girlfriend. Since Teddy has been non-existent for quite some while, he never got the chance, and anything Teddi did didn’t count. The wording of contract did come from Teddy, who did as for a girlfriend, so it makes sense why a boyfriend wouldn’t work, I guess.

Still, can Teddy/i even claim to love Chloe anymore? When’s the last time they had a real conversation? Why is he asking other women out on a date, a date that has no pretenses or ties to saving Chloe? How are we to believe he even likes Chloe still, never mind love her? Like now that he’s big strong Demi-god male, why isn’t he already in bed with Chloe?

Most of the relationship aspects with Al were with Male Al, which negates the girlfriend aspect of the wish as well.

Teddy both had sex AND dated (played mini-golf, went to movies and such...) with several dozens of humans, demons and other supernatural entities... I don't think going on a date with Naomi is a big deal in his mind (Naomi may think differently... though, which could explain the breaking of the contract...).

As for the relationship being enough to break the contract... assuming the girl(friend) has the key to it (that is, it is she who decides if she is his girlfriend), and Naomi's interest being too sudden, I would explain it as a mix of demon pheromones, Naomi obsession about Teddy, and her newfound sense of kindred now that she learnt he/she is just another human who get entangled with paranormal stuff...

Pheromones don't count. If it did the contract would've been broken after Teddi first influenced Gabrielle, Daisy, or any of her friends to desire her.

I'm not entirely sure how the pheromones incubus Teddy exposed her to wore off, but seeing as how she's been going on all kinds of crazy adventures with Prudence I imagine she's build up some immunity.
