Nothing there about needing to be a separate individual. Just a girl who loves him in her heart.

Now whether or not Teddy/i is capable of loving anybody in his/her heart is another question altogether. Although to be honest Teddy/i seems to have been in love with himself for some time already so he'd probably qualify.

I can't help wondering at what the point the creators went from "We need a lead character for a new strip. How about Chloe Love? So many story possibilities from a goodhearted succubus falling in love with a mortal" to "Oh not Chloe again! We don't need her we need fan service and sex jokes not romantic comedy" before ending up thinking"Well we can hardly write her out 100% completely from the story named after her so let's show her cooking lunch every ten strips or so while we concentrate on Teddy's shagging exploits instead."

I wish they just cancelled the spin-off when the writers stopped caring and/or lost the heart to put effort in the story... Actually, I really wish they used the potential of the spin-off to explore interesting character dynamics with a little fanservice here and there, but not litter pages with outright gang bangs with the supposed romantic lead and their until-Teddi-was-hot former bullies, and arch rival who banged Teddi's dad, and many unknown beefcakes.
Maybe I'm giving the writers too little credit and they actually planned to make a character so utterly bland and obnoxiously stubborn that the audience would end up celebrating his inevitable damnation? Unlikely, but it is an explanation for the tedious crap the comic ended up being almost every update.

That's an option. Even if Teddy isn't buffed enough to survive Cloe yet, it would only damage one body. S/He has another now to continue in.

May be left with PTSD but....
