After all this time I think some of you actually enjoy complaining about the story. It's like a guilty pleasure or something. ;)
I call this anger porn. Some people derive bizarre emotional gratification from being self-righteously angry and feed this hunger online by continually looking at stuff that they know will make them angry and putting the interpretation on stuff they read that allows them to be angry.

I wonder if they ever get tired of being themselves. I expect not, since their self-righteous anger is addictively satisfying. But as a positive person who comes here for fun commentary because I enjoy these comics, I get tired of them being them.

Then, if the development is obvious, it shouldn't be hard for you to enlighten the rest of us who don't see it, would it?

Where's the development (outside of Abby's physique, that is)? Teddy giving a sh*t about his kid sister? That's been established chapters ago. Acknowledging that he was a terrible sibling - I'll only buy that as development when he realizes he was in the wrong for losing his sh*t on Chloe and admits that it was due to his own irresponsibility that caused all this mess to begin with (not just for being foolish enough to trust a klutzy succubus to mind his sister in his absence; but for everything that has happened due to his own lack of judgement).
There may not be actual development in this strip, but Teddy’s realization over the past few about his actions effects on Abby and him wanting to address it with her shows the story maybe going a new direction than trying to help Chloe.

Yeah - because people initially started reading this comic to read about Teddy's shenanigans and not about the titular character.

I've only got to wonder how long it'll be before Chloe appears in her own comic, again. Hopefully, it won't take a few years, like last time Teddy took center stage.

It's called criticism. You can't expect people to be 100% happy with the content they read 100% of the time.

If the 'self righteous anger' annoys you that much, use the ignore feature.

The development I see is Teddi realizing she's been an ass, and wants to actually sit down and talk with Abigail.

Granted, I expect Pandora or someone to muck it up, but at least there's some intent to move forward in a rational manner.

Fluffy, I didn’t say people were here for Teddy over Chloe , but I personally didn’t come here for Chloe as I hadn’t read EC prior to this and didn’t know she was a character from that series until after reading all of DC. That being said, like you, I also hope the story don’t lose focus on Chloe like it did a few chapters ago, because I grew to like her and feel the series is less when she’s not around, especially after Teddy’s transformation.

So do I which is why I block the ones who have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

Like I said, it's too late for this. You've too long neglected making your characters likable for the sake of easy jokes about big boobies and lesbian sex to make your audience respond to this event in the expected manner. This is long overdue, and it's finally here, and I. Feel. NOTHING.

They said in this post that sounds like a heavy-handed, self-righteous "I'm better than you" diatribe. Seriously, how do you not see the irony?

And let's get something straight here: I for one don't come here and complain because it makes me feel better about myself. I come here to see what's happening in the comic, and I complain because I want the comic to do better than this. That seems to be true for most of us. If you don't want to see what we have to say, that's your choice. It has always been, so long as the ignore button has existed. For the record, though, I don't consider it beneath my dignity to read other people's negative opinions about something I like so long as there is substance to their arguments. Why is it beneath yours?

I must say, I admire Dave for his exemplary coolheadedness in the face of such incessant fault-finding. I even suspect him of, from time to time, purposefully tweaking the details of his storylines in order to make them more politically incorrect -- just to have some fun at the expense of the censorious anger-addicts.

While eagerly awaiting the coming developments, I also wonder: how will Dave scandalize them next? If I had to risk a guess, I'd say that, at some point, and more sooner than later, Abby will get to -- gasp! -- experience her first whoopee. :x Think about it! Oh, the possibilities! How would it happen? Would it be straight? Would it be lesbian? Would it perhaps be a shocking surprise tryst with her own br... ah, eh, never mind, I let my imagination run wild for a moment there. This. ^

The relentless cries of outrage are, indeed, amusing... but, honestly, I think that, for one who loves the strips and comes here hoping to share some fun with other happy readers, it's impossible to escape a certain degree of disappointment to find the thread swamped with the murky hogwash of hatemongers.
We, the old ghosts of Pizen Bluff, who still roam about this dead forum screaming imprecations at the characters and whatnot.

Except not all commentary should be positive and everyone has a right to express how they feel about a work. Plus like Krock said, people complain because they want the strip to be better and are not enjoying the current direction.

That's assuming he even bothers reading the forum comments. My personal guess would be he doesn't; but, if he does, he's not obligated to listen to the criticism.

You're actually hoping for a twelve year old having nookie? Really? Fictional character and physically aged up or not - it would still be the depiction of a twelve year old in a sexual situation. What kind of person would honestly find something like that entertaining/amusing?

There's a world of difference between hatemongering and constructive criticism. Kindly learn the difference before casually throwing around such accusations.

Chloe even made a point of stating that Abby still is a 12 year old.

As did the artist. So, you've got both the writer (speaking through Chloe) and the artist confirming that - despite how she looks - Abby is still twelve.

So, I seriously question how anyone could be comfortable rooting for Abby being involved in any form of sexy times down the line.

Abby won a full scholarship to Tartarus Academy, right? They made a point of mentioning it, so there's no way this will just be dropped from the plot.

I want to see Abby taking Kissing 101 with a whole bunch of naive, wide-eyed greenhorn rookie succubi girlz. ^_~ It would a riot if she totally aced the class and all her practice partners ended up with big hearts floating over their heads.

I wouldn't take that for granted, considering EC and MC ended with multiple plot threads left unresolved.Such as:
  • 1. We never learned the cause of Qunitessa's death, or why her spirit was split between Layla and Nina prior to her reincarnation being completed.
  • 2. We never found out whether Blair was telling the truth about being part of a group that was allegedly monitoring the Delacroix children (because the alleged "group" was a no-show, once Quintessa returned).
  • 3. Quintessa told Ace that they shared a past together, along with Brooke, suggesting Ace and Brooke had past lives as well. But we never learned whether Quintessa was telling the truth, or if she was deceiving Ace to sway him to to her side.
  • 4. Then there's the question of why the CH principal was using the Hellrunes to spy on Artemis, despite saying she had a colleague among their faculty.
  • 5. Why did the wand choose Mel (of all people) as its next wielder, rather than someone who actually had heroic inclinations, like Tiff for example?
There's a few others, but you get the idea. EC/MC has/had a lot of interesting plot threads and still has plenty of ground to cover when/if it ever resumes. But, as it stands, we were left with a lot of unanswered questions.

Also have to agree with Fluffy, in that I feel Abby is too young to be involved with anyone, even as part of Tartarus' curriculum. Maybe if she were a few years older. Even then, I'd have to wonder why she'd willingly sign up for classes in Hell.

@Gotoh - because, as far as Abby is concerned, being a succubus is the best thing ever and there can be nothing negative about being one; despite what she has seen herself, firsthand.

Remember - this is the same dimwitted twit who was willing to run off with 'demon hunters' (who - only moment before - had attempted to take her idol's life) with the hope of training to become a 'super hero'; so, I wouldn't put it past Abby to want to sign up for succubus classes at Tartarus U to become a full fledged succubus with all the power at her disposal; even if Slash Stab would be her instructor (because, again - being the idiot kid that she is - Abby doesn't think Slash-Stab is evil).
