New Strip! Chloe's attack turns from Gabrielle to Tandy, whose deft escape from a blast of hell fire really impresses Abby!

I guess getting people out of their clothes is one power of a succubus...

But wow Chloe is going at it.

Wow, Chloe's big sister instincts are reallly kicking in here.

Ok, so who's gonna complain about Tandy stripping down first?

I'm still waiting for someone to explain where this all sudden aggression and over-protectiveness is coming from, because I don't recall Chloe having this strong an attachment to Abby before.

It'd be like seeing Maria suddenly go apesh*t in Ace's defense. :-\

Not a complaint as such but I can't help wondering what kind of ninja power Tandy's hair has. All of her outer clothes set on fire and her body smouldering but seemingly not so much as a single hair singed.

Well we did see Maria take Ace and Brooke's side over Layla's during that tussle in the bathroom, but in Chloe's case I can see her going all out if Nina were threatened.

And while there still isn't conclusive proof that Chloe learned any kind of hand to hand combat in Tartarus the fact that she can hold her own against a trained ninja is still very compelling.

@brasca: There's a big difference between Chloe's reaction, as opposd to Maria simply dragging Layla away by her ear.

And while I agree Chloe's fighting well against Tandy, it still seems out of left-field because there hasn't been anything suggesting she's had any sort of combat training, 'til now.

well if i recall correctly, we did see her recieving survival training, which included corpse disposal. i don't think it's much of a stretch that some degree of combat or self-defense would be included in that. going by the artwork, however, this looks less like refined and precise technique, than a flurry of claws and hellfire. this suggests to me that her killer instinct has taken over, which there is precedent for.

as to the other thing, i have to really disagree. i think it's been quite well established that chloe and abby have a close relationship. chloe did, after all, take it upon herself to explain about the bats and the locusts, which is not the kind of thing you do for a casual acquaintance.

but even setting that aside, these people just threatened to murder a small child. if you're not willing to step up and deliver a righteous beatdown in that situation, then there's something more than a little wrong with you.

the power of an artist who wants to avoid drastically altering the character designs, soas to maintain visual clarity, and avoid potentially confusing the audience.

That was a neat maneuver Tandy did there. :x

Cartoon/comic logic I know. I was just being needlessly picky while wondering about the real world logic of somebody having their clothes burst into what look like foot high flames without sustaining any kind of significant injury. Not to mention being able to take said burning clothes off while doing a back flip and keeping hold of two knives.

On a similar point since it was Christmas I decided against commenting on the amazing ability of Chloe to judge exactly how close to come to Gabby with her talons to be able to rip of sections of her clothing without so much as breaking her skin,

It's just lucky she's got her asbestos underwear on today.

I had survival training while I was in the BSA and combat had nothing to do with it. It was mainly about how to build a shelter and surviving off limited rations (or whatever food you could forage).

And the corpse disposal you're referring to was for in the event they lost control after losing their virginity. Which is why Pandora told Abby it was bet to get a few "practice corpses" under her belt before getting serious with someone she actually cared about. So we still have no precedence for where this sudden ability is coming from.

That's basic Sex Ed, you don't have to be close to explain that. Teachers do it all the time.

Chloe's only been living with Abby for what, a few weeks? A month or two? That's hardly enough time to form that kind of bond. And small child, or not, most people wouldn't fly into a frenzy the way Chloe's doing. If the child was legitimately being threatened, they'd be more likely to alert the authorities.

I don't recall anyone threatening to decapitate Abby before either. That'd get a violent reaction on my part for people I'm merely acquainted with, much less an adolescent girl I feel protective towards (and I agree with J that this has been sufficiently established).

To the comments about Chloe's combat training; The one other time I can remember her engaging in a fight was when she was efending Teddy against Alchemy, in which she performed a fairly skillfull football-style tackle on Kimmy in mid-air and then immobilized her weapons. She knew what to do there and even just used the force necessary to contain the attack. So someone's taught her something, and it'd be foolish for the demons in her school not to be able to defend themselves.

Here two self-identified demon hunters -- who also said they're from a hunter's academy Chloe may well be familiar with -- threatened someone she's got emotional reasons to protect with lethal force, so she's going all out.
