Quite simple: it's supposed to be funny BECAUSE it's not real life.
It's the same reason why it is funny that in "That 70s show" Eric always will remain the target of his friends' gags and remarks, Kelso is always being ridiculed about his brainlessness, Fez is.... Fez, Jackie is a snob and Donna is the subject to her torments.
Put these together in real life and you'll have a fight after three remarks, and the people never speak to eachother again.

So to overuse a commonly abused statement: Lighten up a bit... "It's just a comic"

It's Jackie, not Becky. And I wouldn't say she torments Donna, she annoys her at worst. But I digress.

The thing is, Eric comes out on top a bunch of times, especially because he gets Donna for most of the show's run. That's hardly a total butt-monkey....more of just the butt of jokes. But then, everyone on that show is the butt of jokes at times, the show just happens to focus on Eric most of the time.
