Layla has a point there, sorry Brooke.

Lookin' good tho Layla. :)

Speaking of ships, I just hope the RS LaylaxBrooke still floats. :(

That last panel is highly evil, even by the standards of that pair of villainous malefactors most foul. Not even Chloe would stoop so low.

Yeah, that was really mean. Poor Nina.

Wait, shouldn't Nina & Layla be bussing into flames it something? What with the broad daylight they're hanging out in?

They're on school grounds, there's an enchantment there that let's them walk and indeed, sunbathe freely.

If might just be too much DC, but I'm surprised she kept her top on.

That "ship" was torpedoed and sunk four years ago (our time) when TCampbell confirmed that Layla is straight.

On a side note: Layla's comment in panel 4 is further proof that she was (and presumably still is) the queen bee at CH.

Thanks for reminding me.

I think what Cerise and Jacqui did is more mean to Brooke than Nina. She'd find out about chupacabras sooner or later, but with this revelation she's going to leave Brooke's event. Let the poor girl have one friend for emotional support girls.

I don’t think the coven will have much trouble bringing him over.

I’m not sure the book might do what they think it will. While she loves cute, Nina does have that love of nightmare imagery. Remember her describing the dark queen, waaaaaay back when.

Though going by the earlier preview we saw, it's "her" they have to worry about.

In the real world, there's no such thing as a straight woman. Not merely rare, not at all, within studies' error margin. There's a minority of pure lesbians, but no women that react positively to images of attractive men but not to those of attractive women, in a stark contrast with male sexuality.

This is true preference only (arousal measured as genital blood flow) — upbringing, religion, etc may still make a woman refrain from admitting such attraction, and repress it completely.

Thus, in a setting where there's no punishment for such relations, such a ship is never sunk as long as the individuals in question don't hate each other for unrelated reasons. Layla and Brooke have a history of messing around, and no hostility, thus something can start at any moment.

And there's no time limit. For example, on a high school reunion, with a classmate I 24-20 years ago considered merely ok, I felt sudden attraction to. I didn't pursue this, but the opportunity was there. On the other hand, most men feel a revulsion to the very idea of having sexual relations with another man, so genders are not identical here.

@Castimir: TCampbell is the comic's editor. If he says she's straight, I'd take his word for it, unless either Giz, or Dave, said otherwise.

Well yeah, a work of fiction obeys the will of its creator. That's why I started with "in the real world" — and even there, the influence of religions and quasi-religions is immense even if you don't perceive that. And there's more than just sexual attraction — such as desire to have children, etc.

Castimir: Even in regard to the real world, claiming there's "no such thing" as a straight woman is presumptuous. So I'll respectfully disagree and leave it at that.
