I think the implication was that it was early morning, as evidenced by Gabrielle being out jogging.
That, and/or Abby just isn't very smart and may have only belatedly realized she was putting herself at risk by exposing her new appendages.

I'm thinking it's more along the lines of it never crossed her dimwitted little mind that people may take notice of her as she repeatedly face planted into the ground while trying to fly and that, maybe, one of those people may see her new appendages.

You'd think she'd know better after her first run in with Prudence - where she learned that certain people can see normally invisible things. (i.e. - Teddy could see the Prudence's wings because of his connection with Hell and Abby could only see them after Prudence got her halo back).

She'd need to have remembered that fact.
I assume she temporarily forgot due to 'rule of funny'.

I certainly hope so. We all need a break from Teddi's arc for a little bit. At least until the hate dies down. As for the sunglasses, Abbey probably thought she needed them to hide her new... appendages. Also, who here thinks that this will end with Abbey's transformation being permanent and having to be transferred to Tartarus or Charybdis? I kind of hope for the latter.

But if it's permanent... Does this mean we're gonna have another young lady with Chloe's problem? And if so what does it mean for the types of solutions that the cast would look for next...

Dave Lumsdon, also a writer over at Ma3. Can you tell?

And yeah, this comic has been running heavily on Rule of "Funny" for a while now. YMMV on whether the jokes are actually comical. Also Rule of Sexy. I never thought I could get tired of seeing big boobs and child-bearing hips in a comic but Teddy's genderbent form just isn't attractive to me, especially because I hate him a bunch right now.

However, Ma3 (which is half Dave) and SotR (which is credited as all him) are working pretty well at the moment. I mean, people have different opinions about them and all, but just compare the typical threads that appear after a new strip there to the DC discussions. It's the difference between comics that some people might not like (while others do) and one that's just making people actively angry.

It's a bit weird. I assume that Dave is coasting here for the money or something.

Abby tends to be a bit excitable. I'm sure when she realized she had wings her thoughts were more "oh wow! So cool! I gotta go try these Right! Now!" rather than "oh, gotta hide these so no one thinks I'm a demon"

Luckily it was morning (she discovered it whole trying to sleep after alll and it seems few are around watching
