And in panel 3, Al says "paticularly".

Yeah, someone was half asleep lettering this one.

It's a shame the comics're gonna be over sooner than later. I just hope we can get this whole Teddi storyline over. I want Boy-Teddy and Not-Depressed-Chloe going through more shenanigans again. Prefferably shenanigans which don't involve these repetitive, fetishized themes which have been happening over and over now. Like gee, can we keep Male-To-Female transformations to EC and Hate-Boning to Ma3?

I really miss Chloe, Naomi, Prudence and hell, even Lucretia. This arc's been going on for far too long, yeesh.

Color me shocked that, once again, the writers avoid bringing Chloe back into her own comic and giving us yet another sex scene; with Alchemy being added to the list of self serving pricks - and I'm not talking about sleeping with Pandora, either.

Alchemy agreed to shag Chloe early on (while Alchemy was in their female form). You mean to tell us Alchemy only NOWjust realized that having sex with Chloe would serve no purpose because they lacked the life essence she needed to feed on? This means Alchemy was deliberately leading Teddy on in the hopes of scoring with Chloe.

Amazing what self perseverance will get people to confess to, huh Al? :-Q

It would appear the days of being outraged and disappointed are numbered. 8-|
Can you say you're surprised by this? There's only so long that the writers can avoid the main plot (in this case, saving Chloe) before the story becomes tedious; and this particular side plot - which heavily involves Teddy's sexual misadventures, Pandora's pranks and Abby's rampant stupidity; with Chloe only making the rare appearance - has been going on for over two years now.

This comic will probably end on a 'joke'; where after all this supposed search to find her a lover, Chloe confesses she already took care of the problem months ago - and all of these shennanigans could have been avoided if any of these drooling, self serving idiots who call themselves her friends bothered to take the time and ASK her what she intended to do instead of thinking she was helpless.

I think that it's supposed to be that Al was frantically trying to think of reasons that having sex with Chloe wouldn't work, and he just now thought of not having life force to feed to her.

Eh, they're just axing all the comics rather than this one being special for being canceled.

You must find acting enraged in the forums fun to keep coming back and reading the comic. Eh. You do you.

I think DC is a comic struggling to fit into a box too small for it.

Imagine the following:
A) Each character has about 5 years added to their age to avoid squick
B) The comic was moved to Slipshine
C) It shifted focus to primarily being about sexual misadventures with some supernatural bits, rather than vice versa

While Ma3 struggles a little under its constraints (the whole nipple thing), DC is fighting to get away from its teen rating and become something else altogether.

Yes, but all along the story was that she had to "lose her virginity." It wasn't that she had to feed on life essence - she's done that before. So we're changing the rules because otherwise we'd have had to go back to the promised story instead of this soft porn story?
I'm pretty sure they didn't change the rules though. Losing her virginity is the important part still, not the feeding, but Pandora contends that without any life energy to eat that Chloe in her current state wouldn't be able to muster the interest to have sex with Al at all (and presumably the sex has to be reciprocal, she can't just lie there and take it), hence the comparison to a finicky cat.

Indeed. She’s not saying Al wouldn’t work, just that Chloe wouldn’t find him attractive in her current state.

Who's acting? I am genuinely that disgusted with how this comic has going down the proverbial toilet. And, judging by comments that have been left in these forums as of recent months, I'm hardly the exception.

As for why I remain here despite that? Because, hard as it may be to believe, it's hard to simply drop something that you've invested so much time in over a span of years. Like it or not, I'm in until this festering cesspool finally dies (or the writer takes the plot far enough into the squick zone that I walk out - and, given recent developments - it's just about there).

Just as people can come in here praise the comic, others have just as much right to voice their criticisms about it.

"In her current state, Chloe would ignore you that a finicky cat." - 2nd panel, Pandora.

This is a grammatical mess. I can't even figure out what Pandora's intending to say here.
I'm guessing its meant to be "like a finicky cat" or something similar. It's like Waltrip's proofreader took a holiday.

While I don't mind Jason's art style, and I don't necessarily think that changing an artist midway through a series ultimately dooms it, I do think that slowly over the last 2.5 years Waltrip's artistic (re:fanservicey boobs) expression has influenced the writing of this strip. It wasn't too bad at the beginning taking over after Cassandra and it sorta made sense with the Valentine's day plot/theme but as others have said the strip now just feels like a vehicle to roll out fan service constantly and at the expense of character consistency. I'm still enjoying the strip, but for different reasons than the first 200 pages under Cassandra's craft - which I certainly miss.

It is an interesting question how much art style feeds back to writing. Certainly, Dave01 is showing that he’s still capable of a little bit of wit and style over in SotR — where the women are drawn as attractive cartoon women, and not as stick figures with beachballs glued on the front and floor-length hair.
