the thing of it is though that this is nothing new. this forum's had intermittent garbage-fires of fan-rage for as long as its existed. there's constantly somebody screeching about this or that character/chapter/plotline/relationship/etc that they hate with burning passion. about how clearly the creators are hacks who don't know what they're doing. and about how they're so done with all of this, and never ever coming back.

they always think that the creators are ruining their creations forever, that they're circling the drain and about to fall apart. but these comics have been going continuously since 2008, and have had multiple very successful kickstarter campaigns. so whatever pressure these people may or may not think they are applying, clearly doesn't amount to much.

despite that, they all seem to think that their impotent ragings will be some sort of unique revelation. but the reality is that theirs is just one more raeg-post, exactly like every one before, and every one to come after. just one more tiny brown raindrop in the eternal shitstorm that is the pixie trix forum.

seems to me that if you're going to leave a forum, the dignified thing to do is just leave

You know, I really do not understand some people's apparent need to publicly announce that they're not going to read a comic, or visit a forum anymore.
It might help if people really state why they are leaving. I don't read Ma3 all that much any more, maybe have a glance at it every two weeks because I really hate Zii.

This comic is still interesting, and while I don't really like the trickster archetype pandora is representing, there is no hate. The feeling I have, and this punchline made that feeling peak, is disappointment. All this build up for this lame punchline, that doesn't even work since it's his stepmom not his mom, which is a pretty different scenario.

There were some sidenote in this chapter which are "plot" relevant, but the main "joke" is such a mess, the only thing I can hope for is this was the lowest point and things will improve after this.

Oh Dorgengoa it's a pity Lady Obvious got banned from this forum some time ago. I think you too would hit it off famously. You both have that same shrill tone of leftwing lunacy, but to your credit you don't write most of your sentences in capital letters.

I actually want to thank you for making this exciting. It was almost 10 years ago that I first got involved in message boards and was no stranger to being unpopular when I vigorously defended the character of Helen Tomalin from Penny & Aggie. Those were some exciting arguments in those day and I got involved out of a sense of fairness. I've defended Teddi on this board because she's not aware of what she's doing and I defend the creators of this strip since I trust their judgement and want to see where this story is going without it having to be suddenly edited because of the constant whinging.
Remember that condescending comment I mentioned earlier? Yeah - this is a prime example of it. Snidely chatting at someone who an admin has justifiably banned; it's utterly cowardly and downright childish on your part - like a child hiding behind their mother's skirt while making faces at another kid they had a scuffle with. It's easy to talk smack at someone when they have no means to respond to you. Hell, if they hadn't been banned, your comment could easily be seen as trying to instigate further rants from that individual - which would have made you just as bannable for inciting forum fights. Long standing reader or not doesn't entitle you to talk to others like they're somehow beneath you. Please, keep that in mind.

That person may have been out of line for the way they were talking to you and Spidrift - but you need to grow up; because your attitude isn't any better. Defend who/what you want to the best of your ability as often as you'd like; but there's no reason to act superior over it.

That's my last word on this forum spat.

Doompanties?

Is it me or is it being overlooked the fact that they corrupted Chloe and her thrall groupies into being compelled to equally corrupt the innocence of Nina in that arc, yes it wasn't particularly nasty an image (just Nina dancing drunk if memory serves) but it was a shadow of what they were probably capable of doing - and the inference is that Nina would have been a victim of whatever evil you could imagine from that scenario being played out. It's easy to blame it on the doompanties and be dismissive about it but I always read it that they just enhance your inner evil so that's implying that all succubi must ultimately corrupt, it's just Pandora has embraced that, chaotically as someone else has put it (Chaotic evil) and thats just rubbing people up the wrong way.

Also back to DC currently, it wasn't too long ago that Pandora was the victim of a prank herself when Prudence sent that letter to Naomi that got accidentally led into the hands of Abby who suicided in order to blackmail Pandora into helping her help out Prudence in heaven (man did that arc also go on and on), the punchline being the supposed blackmail note was just hidden in plain sight on the back of the wardrobe door.
Nina's innocence was so strong Chloe and her thralls couldn't do anything to her. Chloe fought against corrupting Nina anyway.

The joke about the note was that Abby hid it with the cleaning supplies, knowing Pandora would never look there. It played on her flaw of being too lazy to help with housework, and didn't involve convoluted planning. That's why people loved it. It was a measure of karma for someone who seemed to be a Karma Houdini.

So, was anyone else banned and then had the ban lifted?

Seems really weird, considering I didn't even get an email about the proposed glitch.

*insert insane theory that "the glitch" was planned to get rid of dissenters. :-P*

Not as insane as my theories

1) and attempt to ban someone who was a problem (and there are a few) didn't work right

2) the guy who was the problem hacked the system out of vengeful spite

No, I got the same message. It was something along the lines of: "inciting a flamewar, attacking other posters and the creators, and use of strong language on a PG-13 forum."

Which was odd to me, since as far as I knew, I hadn't done any of those things. So I'm relieved to hear it was only a glitch.

So, how did people figure out it was a glitch? Were there emails, or just genuine curiosity?

So did I, but couldn't look into it until I was at my home computer. I thought something was amiss when I didn't get a warning and BANNED did not appear beneath my name.

I just sent a "What?" message to Admin, then tried again after dinner and it was fixed.

I had. It said I was perma banned (via my IP addy) for attacking forums members/creators, swearing, and inciting flame wars.

You can imagine how impressed I was about that accusation.
