Maybe not, but I'm trying to anticipate the worst way this could go.

I'm fully expecting Lance to ask for a private dance from 'Chloe'; as he had paid for the room, after all - which wasn't necessary to talk to 'her' privately. :ymsick:
Please, don't come to me expecting me to fix your problems.

The trick is not to confuse "funniest" with "worst". The comic is more than a little cruel to Teddy, because it's that sort of comedy, but it's not as cruel as it could be, because, oh, running his <redacted> through a <redacted> with the blades set to <redacted>, and then emptying a bag of <redacted> over him, say, wouldn't actually be funny, though there are a thousand ways the plot could arrange that sort of thing, hypothetically.

Especially with demons being involved, and the very real threat of Teddy's eternal damnation....

I don't think Pandora is interested in breeding. Having a kid would tie her down to a certain extent.

That isn't what I was saying.

Hypothetical sequence of events: Teddy runs off → Pandora goes sniffing around to find out where → during her search she happens to overhear a rumor about a new girl (matching Teddy's description) working at the local strip joint → she decides to check it out to confirm her suspicion and brings his dad along just in case → jackpot (her hunch pays off).

Get it now? It's one thing to hear a rumor, or suspect something might be true, and another to actually find out that it is.
I wrote my reply right after I woke up and just before I went to work, and didn't intend to misrepresent what you wrote. I'm aware of what you meant, and it's what I was referring to when I originally said that what you'd put down was plausible but not believable. This is in large part because you have had a tendency to come up with theories that don't ultimately pan out based on the way the story ultimately works out.

Could it have worked out the way you said? Sure. That's why I described it as plausible. But I don't believe that's the way things will have actually worked out when all is said and done, thus it's not believable (at least to me). And besides, Pandora doesn't appear to leave things like that up to chance. I think that if she seriously thought Teddy was working at a strip club, she would have confirmed it beforehand (and have told his father as well), thus why I think it's more believable that this was pure random chance.

Come to think of it...given his father's complete lack of reaction, I'm starting to wonder if he didn't already know (or strongly suspect) beforehand. If he was the driving force behind them going there, instead of Pandora, it would explain their reactions better in my opinion.

I don't think that adulterer has any right to say who his daughter gets to see. :-w
As I think about it, this does remind me of an age old parenting rule...

"Do as I say, not as I do."

So, keeping his child away from the stripper, even if he may go to strip clubs (and yes, married people can go to strip clubs together, though it might suggest a marriage on the downward spiral, which obviously, his is), isn't a bad parenting guideline.

That said, a good parenting guideline would've been to stay home in the first place, or hire a child care giver.

how is it not necessary? they need a private space where nobody's going to wander through. and teddy's on the clock so they can't just leave the club. where else are they going to have this conversation, the storage close?

"Sort-of comedy" being the operative phrase. I feel like we're seeing a lot of "sort-of comedy" these days, but whereas in the old days it was halfway amusing, nowadays the strip keeps going to places that are so weird and gross that it's hard to laugh at any of the punchlines.

Seriously, how much longer can this genderbending subplot go on? It was old even when it was relatively new, and now it's downright decrepit and geriatric.

Oh, I didn't say it was good comedy (or bad either, though I only really read it to keep up with the references in Ma3 discussions). But the intention is clearly "comedy", not "torture porn", so assuming that the plot will involve not-conceivably-funny torture seems misguided.

Yeah, that is an annoying double standard. "It's okay for me to go to a strip club. But it's not okay for you to work at one."

Attitudes like this are why sex workers have such poor conditions; they are treated with disdain by the general public and shamed for existing. Nobody likes them, or wants them to be taken care of or protected from the poor work conditions they endure, yet the general public simultaneously strongly demands services from these same people.

We don't know *why* Lance was there. Maybe Pandora let it "slip" that she heard Teddy's girlfriend was a stripper and they went to "investigate".

It isn't really a theory, I'm just saying I wouldn't put it past her.

Why would he suspect his son's girlfriend was secretly working at a strip club? As far as he's aware, they've only just met.
