That makes two of us, 'cuz I don't get where anyone's getting that impression from either. If it's because of what Tandy said about her and Namoi, Tiff said the same thing about A.J. and Rain. It didn't make it true.

The speculation, both from Tandy and from the board, seems to be that Gabby does this because she's in elementary school mode; she doesn't understand her feelings, if she does understand her feelings she can't admit them to herself, she just knows she wants Naomi's attention, so she acts out like this because there's no difference between good attention and bad attention (for her in this situation).

I can buy this. Gabby is kind of a sadist and while this particular expression of it isn't healthy, it does rather make sense.

Right.

Though but a lot of people have guessed that she picks on Naomi because she likes her, even Tandy. Even though at her age Tandy should not it's unacceptable and not a good way to tell someone you like them.

I mean, obviously what she is doing isn't making Naomi want to go out with her or even just sleep with her. It's weird Gabby doesn't seem able to notice that.
Perhaps Gabrielle doesn't like Naomi that way and that's just Tandy's explanation or her own way of teasing her. We don't know everything about both girls, but it's possible that Gabrielle comes from a large family and they express their affection by constantly teasing and tormenting each other. Teddi could concur on that. Now while I'm not completely certain of Naomi's family I think it's safe to say she's an only child and has never had to deal with any sibling vying for attention. As such she's a bit spoiled and may be exaggerating some of Gabrielle's antics which aren't nice, but she's never threatened to stick a knitting needle down her fingernails.

I think Gabrielle is telling the truth because why should she lie to Tandy? Tandy seems to go along with her efforts to stock her foster sister and if she found anything morally objectionable about this exercise she'd certainly stop. Gabrielle has no reason to tell her a tale where she really does care for Naomi because it doesn't matter whether she deceives Tandy or not. And if Tandy didn't believe her she'd just give Gabrielle another massage to get the truth.

If Gabrielle really wanted to be cruel she could've easily humiliated Naomi in front of Teddi. Why go outside and dump a bucket of dirt on her head if no one is watching? The cruelest thing she could do was disarm her and taunt her about all the fun things she did on her bed with her high school crush. Instead she goads her to chase her which puts some distance between her and a potentially dangerous person.

In conclusion Gabrielle might be mean to Naomi because that's how it is with her family, but she'd never let any harm come to her real family or foster one.

That's it? So everyone just assumes because character A gets a kick out of trolling character B, that there's some sort of attraction? I'd take it to mean that it's just character A being a troll.

If Gabrielle had the hots for Naomi, I'm pretty sure she'd know it. Even Brooke and Tiff realized they each had an attraction to girls they didn't like personally, and they were both shown to be confused and conflicted because of it.

Tandy isn't an idiot and her skill is being observant, so she'd obviously know, especially since she spends a lot of time with Gabby, who seems to talk about Naomi a lot. And we have seen that all Gabby does is talk about Naomi when ever she's with Tandy, which is why Tandy is so annoyed by all this.

And considering how emotionally neglectful Naomi's parents are, i fail to see how Naomi is spoiled, since her parents do not even pay attention to her.

Nah, it means a character is acting like a 5 year old, thinking that picking on their crush is a good way to get their attention.

And you determined all of this from (again) one scene and a single line of dialog?

Following that logic: Melissa must've secretly wanted Layla, Cerise, Brooke, and Faith 'cuz she used to antagonize the first three, and tried to antagonize the last one.

The theory wouldn't really have any validity except Tandy seems to buy into it 100%.
She could be wrong, but she could also be right (she's probably right, it's a weird thing to introduce to the plot otherwise).

No Tandy is an excellent observer, but she might be teasing Gabrielle about this because it's not really important to their work or she's right about her having an unusual interest in her foster sister, but it's not because she's attracted to her. Perhaps antagonizing her siblings reminds her of home which is why she's focused on Naomi.

There are actually quite a lot of spoiled children whose parents don't pay attention to them. The parents want their children's affection when they aren't busy and then buy them off when they want to avoid spending time with them. I don't think that is the case with Naomi's parents, but as for this matter of being emotionally neglectful have you ever considered that it might be the other way around? I'm fairly certain that Naomi is an only child so of course she'd be the center of attention, but now that she's a teenager with extra curricular activities she doesn't have as much time for Mom and Dad so they volunteered to host a foreign exchange student. More than likely Gabrielle noticed this and quickly ingratiated herself by actually spending time with them while Naomi is out with her friends or at cheerleader practice. Maybe she helps out around the house without being asked. The accusation that Gabrielle stole her parents' affection is flimsy if Naomi didn't have time to spend with them in the first place and someone else did.

It's how many 15 year olds behave too. The jury isn't entirely out regarding whether she just enjoys tormenting her sister for merde and giggles or if she really has a crush, but if it is the latter what would be the better way for Gabrielle to act on her crush?

We don't know what Tandy really thinks. It could just as easily be sarcasm on her part. Gabrielle keeps talking about her, so Tandy quips that Gabrielle may as well make out with her.

Bruce Wayne made a similar remark regarding Alfred in the 1989 'Batman' film. Alfred kept talking about what a breath of fresh air Vikki was and kept trying to set her up with him. Til finally Bruce gets fed up and says: "You know what, Alfred? Why don't you marry her?"

It's not really teasing since Tandy seems straight up annoyed with Gabby's obsession with Naomi. Pretty much every time Gabby brings up Naomi, Tandy gets annoyed and tells her to just kiss her already.

Gabby also never really denies Tandy's accusation of having a crush on Naomi either. At the least, Tandy doesn't seem to like it when Gabby brings up Naomi.

That's one form of neglect, sure. In those particular cases, the Nanny or another family member ends up being more of a parent than the biological ones, if the kid is lucky.

Probably not the case with Naomi's parents, though they clearly are one of those parents that leaves child raising to the TV, considering it seems they never explained the difference between fiction and reality to Naomi.

As for your other point, it doesn't seem to be the case considering what we'very seen. Your hypothetical pretty much ignores the whole "You're the daughter we've always wanted", which was a horrible thing to say, especially when their biological child is present.

The only time "You're the Son/Daughter i/we always wanted" is heartwarming is when the person or persons saying that do not have kids. Otherwise, it's usually used to show how terrible the parent or parents are towards their biological child.

There's also no justifying a parent not being a parent.

Not really, no. Some are immature about how they interact with their crushes, sure. But by that point, most people know that picking on your crush won't get you anywhere.

I'm actually inclined to think Gabby is telling the truth because in the retelling she cops to making a significant mistake and being rattled. Given her usual attitude I can't see her inventing those bits because 'I made a rookie mistake' is not a proud admission.

I think Gabby is trying to re-cast events in a eay to make herself look better. Not because of Tandy, but because she now knows an angel is involved. She may just be osyching herself because she thinks Pru has been watching her.
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Yes Tandy is annoyed by Gabrielle's penchant for antagonizing Naomi, but if she truly disapproved she would tell her so. This kind of behavior is the order of the day at Artemis Academy so I seriously doubt Gabrielle has gone too far.

You are leaping to a really big conclusion with just one scene as evidence. Consider the context. It was a relaxing evening and Gabrielle is actually spending time with Naomi's parents so it would seem they were having a good time and just teasing Naomi. It was meant in jest and those who don't have a thin skin would take it as such. It's not like this: http://www.pennyandaggie.com/index.php?p=499

Helen Tomalin would gladly trade places with Naomi even if it meant Gabrielle was a part of that package. And what makes you think Naomi was raised by the TV? She doesn't seem like a couch potato. If you are referring to her belief in aliens well there are a lot of people who believe and it's not like her conclusion is completely half-baked considering what she's witnessed.

I didn't say all. I said many. Some behave with more maturity than others, but when you pump someone inexperienced with hormones you don't get the most desired results which is why teenagers are so frustrating. And you never answered my question as to how should Gabrielle go about courting Naomi.

Seriously?! If Pandora can put on a halo and wings and dupe Prudence then Gabrielle should have no problem whatsoever talking her way out of this.
