If you were a girl, you'd probably not do that because you'd be used to having them.
I suspect Teddi spends so much time enjoying the sensation exactly because they're new to her.

Notice there's no soap suds censorship.

Even if Tandy's focused on Teddi, as a monster hunter in training, shouldn't she be at least as suspicious of an instant sex change as Naomi was?

So are Naomi's parents the new source of controversy like the Hartley's in VC?

It was one panel, one line that hasn't gone anywhere since (unless you have links confirming that Naomi's parents really don't love her). All they said was Gabby was the daughter they wish they had. They didn't say 'screw you, Naomi, gtfo'.
In the scene, not only is Gabrielle sticking her tongue out at Naomi, but Naomi gets the Cross Popping Veins, indicating she's really angry.
Gotoh wrote: But since you bring it up, Gabrielle's no more a bully than Alex Keaton, or Ferris Bueller. Both of whom screwed their sisters over too, yet neither one was labelled "a bully" for it. Both were examples of typical sitcom sibling behavior, what Gabby does is no different.
When did Alex or Ferris do something like the last panel here or the third panel here? Usually it's just snarking.

'Ferris Beuller's Day Off' was a giant middle finger to his sister (Jeanie), who (like Naomi) complained that Ferris was their parents "favorite" and how he always got away with murder, because he could seemingly do no wrong in their eyes. And the movie in its entirety validated her point, because it's exactly what happened.

Ferris decided to skip school by pretending to be sick, everyone bought it (except Jeanie and Principal Rooney) who both knew Ferris was full of sh*t, and spent a day out on the town which included taking his best friends dad's prize car for a joyride.

Jeanie spends half the movie trying to convince everyone that he was faking it, no one believed her. Instead, she wound up in trouble and was called "spoiled", while he got off scot-free. In the end, she had Ferris dead to rights, but decided she hated Rooney (for sneaking into their house and scaring her) more than she hated her brother, so she chose to let him off the hook and left Rooney out to dry.

So: Ferris got away with everything (again), while Jeanie looked like 'the bad guy', despite being the heroine of the film. Except now, he owed her one.

Compared to that, Naomi's gotten off easy.

There's a big difference between Ferris and Gabrielle. He never went out of his way to torment her and so much of her misery was a product of her obsession with exposing Ferris' deception. Even if Naomi instigated their conflict Gabrielle has more than made up for it.

As... wonderful as that image is, Lucretia has some fantasies where she's a sub. Depending on which girl is more aggressive, she may prefer being dominated instead.

No the Hartley's parents incident set off a lot more flame wars. Right now there's just a disagreement. The implications were also darker. Where as here the worst thing that can be said is child negligence. Not a good thing but still a far less icky subject.

Yeah, the Hartleys.... That was DARK.
I'm still puzzled that some people thought what was done to them was justified.
What's happening with Naomi's parents is deeply unpleasant, but it hasn't reached that level yet.

I don't see why anyone's making a big deal over Naomi's parents at all. They're no worse than Ferris' parents, or the Keaton Family's. Or most other sitcom families.

They're not meant to be taken seriously. Which is a stark contrast to what went down with Heather's parents.

They're the only parents Naomi has that we know of, and they have shown an unpleasant amount of favouritism for an exchange student over their own child. :-/ That kind of experience would leave a mark on most children, and combined with Gabrielle's further harassment might go a ways to explain why Naomi isn't exactly a happy camper.

How is it an unpleasant amount, when we barely know anything about them?

We don't even have their side of the story. It could be that Naomi's brought it on herself (much like Jeanie did).

This is twice we've seen Tandy in the shower. Think we 'll see more of her like that?

Telling an exchange student she's the daughter they always wanted in front of their flesh-and-blood daughter with no sign of facetiousness is not good parenting, no matter how you slice it.

It's the scene that introduces the parents, containing three pieces of information about their relationship with Naomi and Gabrielle.

In the examples given, Gabrielle gives Naomi truth serum, a felony, and tries to humiliate her in her debate and threatens to steal her boyfriend. That's beyond the moral event horizon in sitcoms and most movies.

Mostly in the Facebook page. It shouldn't get as big since they're minor characters.

It's a phenomenon I call vampyre fanboys (or vampyre extremists if they're really bad), where the posters with it think vampires (and usually other cryptids) are superior beings who can do no wrong. There was a notable example on this forum who was banned because of it. As I've said elsewhere, PMS started out mocking those people, then embraced them in the last book. Either Adam Arnold was trolling, or he just gave in.

Adam thought Heather's parents would come across as campy.
To use a modern sitcom, The Goldbergs, the mother's favorite is obviously the youngest, but she'd never say that in front of her other children, let alone something like Naomi's parents did.

I feel like the ending to VC confirms Adam being trollish at times. :P
