Gabrielle, who's a part of DC

That's a different subject entirely. I thought we were discussing whether Naomi's parents were bad, for excluding their daughter from a hug. :-\

No, we're discussing the fact that Naomi's parents are neglectful to Naomi and that they play favorites with Gabrielle and Gabrielle rubbing it in. All which we saw on panel, but you decide to ignore.

And yet again you failed to give any possible positive spin on them saying that Gabrielle is the daughter they always wanted right in front of Naomi and not bringing her in for the family hug, which would imply they don't even see her as part of the family.

But since you bring it up, Gabrielle's no more a bully than Alex Keaton, or Ferris Bueller. Both of whom screwed their sisters over too, yet neither one was labelled "a bully" for it. Both were examples of typical sitcom sibling behavior, what Gabby does is no different.

Actually, a lot of people do view what they did bullying and "typical sitcom behavior" does fall under the "Big Brother Bully". So not really helping your case there.

All that tells me is, you're jumping to conclusions based on one scene. Rather than wait to see what her parents actually think, or why they said it, you've already decided for them.

Which is why I haven't commented on it, because we don't have enough to go on yet. Just like several other instances I can recall from old EC/MC threads, where people leapt to conclusions only to be proven wrong later. Which is why I'm saying we should wait 'til we actually know the whole story.

And yet Malerie never thought of Alex as a bully. She called him "a jerk" on occasion, but it was always presented comically and it was always shown that, despite their bickering, they cared about each other.

It was the same with Jamie and Ferris. Jamie spends the majority of the film trying to convince everyone that her brother was a scam artist and Ferris thwarted her by always being a step ahead of her. At the end of the film, she had him dead-to-rights, but chose to let him off the hook by covering for him. Because she decided Rooney was the bigger jerk and knew Ferris would owe her one. So did Ferris, and he was okay with it.

While I'm at it, I can also add Ross and Monica. So yeah... I'd say those examples support my point about sitcom sibling behavior. And so far, Gabby's basically the same.

All that tells me is that you're oblivious to the obvious.

Their actions make things abundantly clear, so does the fact that they think of Gabrielle as the daughter they always wanted, which means Naomi isn't.

For someone who visits TVtropes, you sure don't seem familiar with the parental neglect trope.

And you'd be wrong, but that's not new. Especially since you once again missed the point that many viewers still viewed them as being shitty siblings, not really minding because of the setting.

And Gabrielle is hardly the same.

I HATE the "she's making your life unbearable because of her repressed feelings for you" trope. In the unlikely case it ever happened to me, I would tell her to go seek a shrink to fix her head; there is no way I would eve forgive bullying, harassing or mistreatment because of her own inability to manage her own feelings...

Yeah, it seems Gabrielle handles a crush the same way a five year old does, if she does in fact have a crush on Naomi.

At this point, I'm just going to reserve the right to say "I-told-you-so" later, in the event that it's proven otherwise.

If I am, I'll have no problem saying so. I've never claimed to always be right. Though I've had a fair amount of success in reading into the characters and predicting certain events before they happened.

I never saw anyone refer to Alex Keaton as a 'shitty sibling". Instead, he was the most popular character on the show which helped launch Michael J. Fox's career. Just as Ross was one of the most popular characters on 'Friends', because of David Schwimmer's portrayal.

Gabrielle is no different, in that her antics are no worse than theirs.

Only if you don't have a problem with the reverse. Plus we already saw they show Gabrielle Parental Favoritism, so that's one.

I somehow doubt you've been in any conversation on the topic. The fact that you think people like Ross is kinda proof of that.

I've read many an essay on how Ross was an asshole. We're talking about the guy who super clingy and jealous.

Fair enough.

Yes, the fans liked Ross. Read through the comments section of the first link I posted, or this one. That should be proof enough.

I think you're confusing Ros with Rachel, which is why House called her out on it (@2:02-2:35).

.

No they don't. Especially not these days. You go to tv tropes, check out the YMMV section of the friends show.

No, i meant what i said, though Rachel is just as bad and their relationship was unhealthy and toxic by the end.

They're both terrible people and they were terrible together.

TV Tropes isn't official, least of all, the YMMV pages.

Here's the official verdict: in a fan poll Ross was voted 'Friends' most popular character by 25.6%, just narrowly beating out Chandler who received 25.4% of the fan vote. So yes, the fans liked Ross.

Says the guy that has referenced TV Tropes before, coming off rather hypocritical there.

Regardless, what's posted in the YMMV page are criticism that fans have had about Ross over the years that have been mentioned elsewhere, along with the other characters in the show.

Also, fanpolls are even less official, especially since i doubt everyone that watched the show voted on that and it's extremely easy to cheat on those things.

When I link to TV Tropes, it's to point out when certain tropes are being used (such as when I linked to the Vitriolic Best Buds page, concerning Tandy and Gabby's friendship). I've never used it as a fact site, which is what you tried to do.

Which neither changes or disproves the fact that he was voted the show's most popular character. And if you read the article, it clearly states it was an official fan poll.

You said no one liked him. That poll and those YouTube comments I linked to prove otherwise.

Anyone else eant to hook up Gabby with Lucretia?
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

They both have a need to torment the objects of their affection, but considering that Lucretia is a succubus she would utterly dominate Gabrielle. I think the only one at Artemis who could stand toe to toe with one would be Faith.

I would just like to point out that Teddi's style of showering is ridiculously accurate to how I'd shower if I were a girl. Spend twenty minutes letting water pelt the breasts, then, you know, whatever happens happens.
