Regardless, Dakota is the instigator in the present. Ana also had enough tact not to kill Dakota in front of Melissa. Dakota on the other hand doesn't seem to care if Melissa sees her kill Ana or not.

That was before their daughter knew. Now that she knows, they're probably both much more open to it. Which likely isn't good for their daughter, even if she is 16.
