^liking the fact someone else is using the names I coined....
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

I try. :)

(It just feels weird to call them "Light Mel" and "Dark Mel" all the time.)
For those curious: my avatar is an artistic rendering of a spaceship I drew for a primitive (by today's standards) multiplayer online game called XPilot. (More about both on my website.)

Bzzz.

So, is this homicide, or suicide?
Yet still, I live...

SDB will more than likely be delayed for other reasons. I signed up to do Archie Meets Ramones last Summer and it appears it's about to drop in my lap (I honestly didn't know if it was going to happen or not at this point.) This one shot is a 40 page packed story that I will have to pencil, ink and letter in 2 months (June/July). That's basically 5 pages a week plus Ma3. So yeah... SDB might be pushed to August. AND! While I'm drawing those 40 pages plus Ma3, I'll have to create art for our next Kickstarter that should launch early August. Oh, and I'm working on 9 pages for the Reverse Ma3 story, and 5 pages for Dangerously Chloe (we didn't fund it, but I'm drawing it anyway.) So yeah... I really wish I didn't have to sleep, but even as is, it's gonna be tough.
Given how you once juggled Ma3, Eerie Cuties, and Magick Chicks for a few months I'm amazed you got any sleep at all. While I was looking forward to more Sticky Dilly Buns I understand the importance of a paying gig. I can be patient and I'd rather be told the schedule is being pushed back until August than get infrequent updates.

I'm also doing the gig 'cause I feel it may help bring more readers to Pixie Trix properties. It's not easy finding places to advertise our stuff, so if this one shot is well received, and people like my work, they might search for what else I'm working on. :D
I love working on SDB and hate to have to put it on a short hiatus but since we had just ended a book, it was the property that was the easiest to put on hiatus. At least, we're still on track for the next Kickstarter, and SOTR is catching up. And speaking of SDB, in regards to the bonus story in the book, I'm thinking of telling the story of how Jung and Ramona got together. Sounds like it could be fun. Anyway, that's the current plan. :)

I'd certainly vote for the Jung-Ramona story. It's a genuinely interesting character bit that I doubt we'll see otherwise. And, well, I like Jung and Ramona.

(Also, I have a pet theory that Jung abandoned thirty years of asexuality after Gary started getting some, on the grounds that if Gary could manage the trick, it couldn't be difficult... And I want to see if I'm right. But anyway, I guess that this discussion will need to go to the SDB boards soon, if it continues.)

Well, I'm hardly going to pretend that I like it.

I don't begrudge Giz for making a living, but... A one-month break turning into a four-month break?
Surprise! Being an artist isn't easy work and illustrations (especially for a comic) can be incredibly time consuming!

Instead of whining about the delay in a single free comic you yourself say you're not a tremendous fan of; support Giz in her struggle to meet the deadlines of these other projects that are helping to keep food on her table and a roof over her head.

STB will return when the poor woman has time to take a breather. In the meantime, we'll survive.

What she said

I asked once how long it takes to do a page, and Shouri said 6 hours. And that was the B&W ones. If Giz is doing color two on her paid stuff, that will be really time consuming

I can agree with every word of that (and I'm sure it's true). I can dearly wish for Giz and Shouri to make all the money they deserve. What I can't do is like the consequences.

I must have been unclear somewhere. The comic that's being delayed is the one that I AM a tremendous fan of. I'm puzzled about how anyone can think I'm less than a sad SDB fanboy...

And I do as much as a sane fan can to reward Giz and Shouri for their efforts on stuff I like, as a shelf full of bought-and-paid-for autographed copies of the print collections of Ma3, SDB, and SotR can show. (I've wondered about buying print editions of the comics that don't work for me, or guitar picks, or whatever, but that'd be sending the wrong signals through the market.) I just hope that Pixietrix starts using Patreon sometime, because then I'll be able to do more... But in the meantime, I'll miss comics that I like that aren't being published. Weird of me, I know.

It's not weird to miss updates on comics; but when you come out complaining about a delay on a free comic - moving from a one month delay to four due to deadlines needing to be met on paid projects - and implying that being away from a free project for so long may end up in a possible dropping of said project, makes you come off sounding rather entitled.

But then, that's my interpretation of your previous comment and I could be totally off by what your implying. All I know is, you didn't come off sounding particularly supportive when learning about the extended delay - just needlessly critical.

Yes, these comics are free (though I for one would be happy to pay for them). That doesn't remove the right to feel regret at their disappearance, even if it's just temporary.

And it's not criticism so much as it's pessimism. (Or, as a pessimist like me would say, realism.) I've seen too many projects and serial productions, in too many fields, go on "temporary hiatus" and never come back. Mostly, I'm hoping to be proved wrong here.
