Knowing how Pixie Trix Comix rolls, we will soon find that Tracy wants to get into Tiff's pants... She's just still stuck in the "pull the pigtails of the cute girl you like in order to have her attention" phase.

Or, it could just be due to Tracy not liking her. They're both slayers, so she might be from a competing family. Or maybe she has a history of one-upping Tiffany. It'd certainly explain the smugness.

I think it'd be funnier if we find out she's dating Dusky.
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

I realy hope this wont be another generic "my rival is more successful than me" saga, coz no good story starts with those.

Just as Hunter the Rekoning/Vigil are my least favorite WoD sub games so are Tiff and her hijinks my least favorite part of EC....such a poor start (to me)

I like the look of the new girl, and this storyline has Tiff, so everything is fine.

Strangely enough I can suspend my ability to disbelieve in vampires, witches, and werewolves, but find it hard to believe that there are potentially 3 schools that fight monsters in what I think is a suburb of Montreal.
That depends on how widespread the cryptids population is, proportionate to number of cryptid related incidents.

The PMS crew (for example) took cases all across the US, which was a tall order for a group of only 4 people to handle by themselves. So imagine only 2 or 3 schools training future monster hunters and it isn't hard to see why there'd be a need for more of them.
Possibly Tracy was in the background at Artemis, not being in the student government circle, or she was home schooled in monster hunting like Stephanie Kane was. The situation in the US is probably like in Supernatural, where Sam and Dean also take cases across the country, but other hunters exist. The Winchesters even made an uncredited but blatant cameo in PMS. Adam Arnold said "PETM has bodyguards watching over the Vampire Cheerleaders... Think of them as just there to keep the VC contained and to protect them against any low-level vampire hunters like Tiffany Winters." So there are hunters beyond the PMS. Doctrinal differences might explain multiple schools. The Kanes were more interested in studying cryptids than killing them, so they wouldn't want Stephanie educated in Artemis's "kill them all" philosophy. Similarly, if PETM has control of any or all schools in the US, hunters who don't like their bleeding heart methods might split from them.

in answer to my earlier question, Tiffany seems on the ball in this series. She's uncovered a lead about the drowning victims that's worth checking out. Interestingly, this seems to involve a cryptid that actually kills people, something the EC-verse has avoided (except for Qunitessa's back story). Will Tiffany actually slay something, or will a killer go free?

We don't know that yet. She seems to be acting on assumption, so far, which she has a habit of doing in both comics. Dusky also seems aware of that, which is why he thinks his sister's letting her imagination run away with her again, instead of considering that the drownings may have just been accidents.

EC hasn't avoided it, it's been mentioned and nearly happened when Ash decided to pick a fight with Brooke.

Are we sure the shared universe still exists? Taking into account that the VC comic has ended (and they in fact cut some chapters and rushed the ending), they may have decided to ignore it altogether. Trying to reconcile both comic universes is hard anyways (vampires and werewolves are contagious but sterile in one universe, the opposite in the other; cryptids are protected in one universe, but they are hunted in the other...).

It does for VC/PMS, but not for EC/MC.

I only mentioned the PMS crew to illustrate why there'd probably need to be more than a few cryptid slayer groups.

It's not just a number of drownings, but the pattern of them moving up the coast. That's the sort of thing the characters on shows like Supernatural are always checking out.

EC hasn't avoided it, it's been mentioned and nearly happened when Ash decided to pick a fight with Brooke.
But they don't actually do it. In fact, the cryptids who nearly do like Brooke, Chloe, and Cerise are under some form of diminished capacity. EC goes out of the way to say that vampires no longer kill, even the Quintessa possessed Layla stops short of draining her victims dry without thinking about it. Giving Maria a line in VC about "What vampire hasn't had a little blood on their hands at some time or another?" seems to have caused some controversy from EC fans.
